Cactus propagation help!

Cactus propagation help!

I found this piece of a cactus at Home Depot completely detached from the mother plant so I took it home and stuck it in some water. It has roots now but I’m not really sure how to go about putting it in soil. Should I wait longer? She is a little beat up but still rooting so I’d like to see if I can turn this into a whole new plant!!

Spider plant help needed!

I bought 3 spider plants off of amazon in March (first picture, I lost one though) and they grew so fast the first 2 months. I repotted them into clear plastic containers and the roots have grown a lot since then. About a month ago they grew runners with babies but since then they’ve lost more leaves on the mother plant and it hasn’t been growing as fast, but the stems and babies have been growing very quickly. I Is there anything I can do to keep the mother plant growing healthily or is it normal for them to lose some leaves once it grows runners? I’m wondering if the stems/babies are taking nutrients from the mother plant, hindering its growth, but I do like the runners and would like to keep them and their babies!

Side note: we have been struggling with fungus gnats in the last month and can’t seem to get rid of them no matter what I spray/water them with. I caved and bought beneficial nematodes (should be here this week) bc they have now affected every plant in our house. I’m hoping the nematodes work but is there anything else I should be doing? We have a dehumidifier that I keep in the room with most of our plants and it stays around 50% humidity always.

Any advice or suggestions are appreciated !!!!
