Ahhhhh so "this" is Zen?

Ahhhhh so "this" is Zen?

After all the failed attempts at spawning rocks. The mistakes I made when moving things around while forgetting to cover that other spot! Ohhh the trials and tribulations to get here... and now I sit and contemplate my life choices and reach... contentment?

Would I do it over? Probably.

Would I make the same mistakes? Probably.

Would it be worth it...?

Probably, you tell me.

[Feature Request] Color-Coded Warp Pipes for Dedicated Fast Travel

Let's get enough traction to put this on Nintendo's radar

🍄 We need more warp pipes, please! 🍄*

A simple Quality of Life patch is all we need: let us use customization kits or through Cyrus to unlock the colored pipes and the clear glass pipes from the Mario universe. Then, just update the routing to connect the matching colors:

  • 🟢 Green goes to Green.
  • 🔴 Red goes to Red.
  • 🔵 Blue goes to Blue.
  • and so on...

Not sure if this has already been said, but now that the 3.0 update is out and they actually gave us playable classic NES and Game Boy games, I feel like this is the perfect time to ask for this.

Right now, if you put down more than two Warp Pipes on your island, your destination becomes completely random. You basically have to choose between a reliable fast travel system with just two pipes, or playing a frustrating game of roulette every time you jump in.

Think about how huge this would be. We could build dedicated subway lines linking our houses to Resident Services, or the museum to the new Resort Hotel pier. Creators could build crazy mazes and multiplayer puzzle islands without relying on random RNG teleportation.

If the dev team can put fully playable retro games inside the game, linking two blue pipes together has to be an easy add.

Let's make some noise so the devs see this! Sound off below: what is the first fast-travel route you would build if they dropped this patch?

My "remarkably organized" pocket & tool ring layout (and then the muscle memory kicks in...)

I got tired of missing balloons or getting stung by wasps because I couldn't pull the right tool in time. So I went with a purely logic-based setup.

The Tool Ring Logic

  • Top
    • Slingshot
      • Default spot. Hear wind > open ring > shoot.
  • Right
    • Net
      • Wasps always drop to the right of the tree. Flick right to catch them instantly.
  • Bottom
    • Shovel
      • You dig down. Simple.
  • Left & Corners:
    • Fishing rod left, watering can top left, star wand top right, axe bottom right, stone axe bottom left.

The Pocket Logic & The Real Magic

  • The Secret to Syncing - 1:1 Matching
    • You can use any tool order you want! The real magic is simply remaking your Tool Ring circle inside your pockets. When your layout syncs perfectly with your ring, it optimizes your pocket space and makes fast-switching flawless.
    • By keeping your pockets in the EXACT same order as the ring, D-pad cycling finally follows a predictable pattern instead of random roulette.
  • Slot 1 (Storage Shed):
    • Top left corner. Drop it, use home storage, pick it back up fast.
  • Center (ABD):
    • Dropped right in the middle of the tool cluster for quick bell access.
  • Top Row (Mobility):
    • Ladder and vaulting pole stay up here to keep them separate from harvesting tools.

Anyone else doing this or are you guys just dealing with random pocket roulette?

[Feature Request] Color-Coded Warp Pipes for Dedicated Fast Travel (Hey Nintendo EPD!)

Let's petition Nintendo: We want more warp pipes! Please ❤️🎮🕹️👾

  • Blue goes to Blue.
  • Glass goes to Glass (imagine seeing your villager zip through!).

Not sure if this has already been said, but now that the 3.0 update is out and they actually gave us playable classic NES and Game Boy games, I feel like this is the perfect time to ask for this.

Would anyone else instantly build a fast travel network if they dropped this in a future patch?

A massive thank you to this sub: The Free Planner Wizard gets a smoother UX, overloaded with Templates & Themes, and an 80% off backer event.

Hey everyone, XP here.

Before I get to the update, I just want to say a massive thank you. Two weeks ago, I dropped my free planner builder in this sub, and the response floored me, the posts hit 80,000 views! But more importantly, you guys gave me the exact blunt, actionable feedback I needed.

You told me the original UI was confusing and too cluttered. You were right. I’m an engineer, so I tend to over-complicate things. I spent the last few days ripping out the old interface, and the workspace now finally feels like a clean, distraction-free, paper-inspired desk.

Try the new UI here: https://planner.mycompassconsulting.com

Supports/Founders Wall

Here is the massive update:

The Core is Still FREE You can still generate beautifully hyperlinked planners perfectly scaled for your reMarkable, absolutely free. I also completely removed all the confusing menus. Seriously, if you can't back the project right now, please just keep using the free tier. Every generation helps me stress-test the server architecture.

The "Kickstarter" Backer Event I want to step off the corporate hamster wheel and build tools for this community full-time. Instead of hiding behind subscriptions, I’m treating this like a solo community Kickstarter. To celebrate the 80,000 views you gave the original launch, I’ve set up a single backer tier to fund development:

  • The 80/80 Drop: The first 80 backers get 80% off their Magus Key using code 80FOR80 at checkout.
  • Early Adopter Bonus (Ends July 4th): Secure your key before the 4th and get an extra bonus years access. The quicker the backer, the longer the bonus.
  • Pro Power: Unlocks the overloaded library of premium themes and custom templates, plus unlimited event syncing.
  • The Founders Wall: Your name permanently etched on the Founders Support Wall inside the builder.

Help me build the roadmap! Since this is community-backed, we need stretch goals to figure out where to point the engine next. I'm currently looking at:

  • Live Cloud Calendar Sync (Pulling your live schedule directly into your generated PDFs).
  • 100+ New Templates (Expanding the library to cover every possible niche workflow).
  • Beyond Planners (Evolving the wizard to generate entirely different types of custom hyperlinked documents).

What is the ultimate feature you want to see next? Drop it in the comments, the most upvoted idea becomes our next official stretch goal.

Thank you again for stress-testing the original version. Let's make this the ultimate community-driven document engine.

Is it even worth the hassle to sell these raw, or should I hold everything to launch a 'Grading in Public' YT channel?

Charizard - Base Set Shadowless - NM

Hey everyone. I could use some tactical advice from seasoned collectors.

With the TCG’s 30th anniversary arriving this September, I’ve been preparing to release my collection into the wild. All cards have been kept in sleeves and binders since they were pulled back in 1998-99.

I’ve been contemplating how to launch a "Grading in Public" YouTube channel to document the true logistical and financial reality of the process: Personally grade > Package > Ship, Grade, Vault > Compare Results.

My plan is to film raw condition audits, break down the brutal math of current submission fees and turnaround times, and do blind reveals of the grading returns to calculate the actual ROI on camera. The concept is to stress-test the modern grading system (PSA vs. CGC vs. BGS) on camera using my untouched, single-owner 90s vault.

Since grading a massive pristine collection costs significant upfront capital and time, I need a reality check on my launch logistics:

  • Are any of you even interested in this type of content. i.e. Is it worth the Time...?
    • For a channel concept like this, is it smarter to sell the middle-tier vintage cards raw as a lot to build an immediate grading war chest, or hold everything for content?
  • What is the most efficient way to offload a small percentage of the collection.
    • I need to fund the initial grading submission fees for the heavy hitters raw without getting crushed by local card shops.
  • Have any creators here utilized reputable consignment deals, what should I look out for?

I appreciate any feedback you guys have.

[Looking for Testers, End Users, and Supporters] I optimized a free planner engine for reMarkable, Scribe, Boox, and Supernote. Help me test it? I brought snacks!

Hello fellow e-ink'ers,

A couple of weeks ago, I shared a web-based planner builder I've been working on. The response from the community was incredible, but the sudden volume completely slammed my backend pipeline and caused some frustrating API timeouts.

TBH the tech job market has been incredibly brutal lately, and I haven't had much luck landing anything. Instead of spinning my wheels sending out endless corporate applications, I spent the interim treating this tool as my full-time project to make it genuinely reliable for the community.

To be clear up front: the core builder engine is completely free. It generates high-resolution, fully hyperlinked PDFs precisely mapped to specific hardware screen ratios (including the reMarkable 2 & Paper Pro, Kindle Scribe, Boox Note/Tab, Supernote A5X/A6X2, iPad Pro, and GoodNotes). There are no watermarks or locked basic layouts.

https://preview.redd.it/oedwto7nd18h1.png?width=1920&format=png&auto=webp&s=f82f6d9d52eb5f85035234c704b1b334f3032004

To keep this post clean and compliant with the community rules, the tool link is pinned directly on my Reddit profile under the "My Remarkable Organized Planner Wizard" social link.

I need help with Cross-Platform Testing:

I need your help stress-testing this environment across different ecosystems. If you are building layouts, please let me know how the compiler behaves on your specific setup (Mac, Windows, Linux) and browser choice (Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Safari). I'm currently hunting an intermittent template drift bug that seems to specifically pop up on Safari, so telemetry there is highly appreciated.

I have Free Snacks for drivers to drive the Roadmap

To handle live support, bug tracking, and feature planning, I'm using my community Discord server. If you want to chat about e-ink setups or need direct help with your layout, the invite link is pinned on my Reddit profile right under the tool link.

To offset ongoing server maintenance and live calendar API costs, I did introduce a paid premium tier for features like live Google/Apple calendar syncing, premium templates, and bonus themes. However, if you just need a solid, high-res custom annual template to bake and download, the free tier will cover you completely.

ALSO, I want to make sure I'm prioritizing the features this community actually cares about. So I brought 10 full Pro passes I plan on giving completely free to the authors of the 10 best feature, layout, or device-specific feedback ideas dropped in the comments below. Let me know your browser/OS setup, what kind of custom grids you are testing, and what features you want to see on the upcoming roadmap!

Thanks for the support!

P.S. For early testers looking to jump into the premium tier, I also brought our soft launch coupon, active for a limited time only. Code80FOR80 gives you 80% off. It's good for 89 uses, as of this writing, there are 71 left on that code before it expires on July 4th.

The free e-ink planner generator got a massive engine upgrade. I’m bypassing the broken job market and building a Pro tier to keep me and the servers alive. (Plus early adopter codes)

Hi everyone,

First, a massive thank you to everyone who tested My Remarkably Organized Planner during the launch just 14 days ago.

The response to that first post completely blew my mind. In the last two weeks, I took all your suggestions, patched the bugs, and completely overhauled the backend to mitigate the server failures and API timeouts we were hitting due to heavy usage.

For the data nerds out there, here are the stats:

  • Nearly 80,000 of you read the post.
  • 5,000+ of you visited the site.
  • 3,900+ of you built a planner.
  • 1,000+ of you actually printed it.
  • 500+ of you shared the tool with others.
  • 180+ of you upvoted it.

(...and I did it all without a single cup of coffee. 😂)

The truth is, the tech job market is brutal right now, and I haven't had much luck finding a new role. I realized that instead of waiting for a company to match my old salary, I should just bet on the system I already built. I don't need a massive, VC-backed corporation; I just need to sustain myself as an independent developer.

Don't worry, the core builder will always remain FREE. But to cover the massive server and API costs we are hitting AND turn my projects into a living, I'm OFFICIALLY soft-launching the Pro ecosystem today.

With July 4th coming up, my goal is to reach my own financial independence by then. So, to commemorate the upcoming 250th anniversary of Independence Day, I’ve structured my Pro tiers to honor that legacy, centered around the Adept tier at $25, scaling up to the limited 10-Year Magus tier.

Help me celebrate my independence and permanently escape the corporate hamster wheel. May this magical planner wizard save us all from the grind of Time & Chaos.

🔗 Build your magically hyperlinked Planner here.

Because you all built the momentum for this, I want to return the favor:

  • For the Original Bug Hunters:

    • DM me for your FREE 365-Day license.
  • The Magus "Reddit 250" (80% Off):

      • I am opening exactly 250 spots for the Magus Tier to the early adopters who want to see our independence from Time & Chaos grow.
      • Use code 80FOR80 to grab one of the first 80 spots for just $25.
      • When these 80 are gone, they are gone forever.
    • The Remaining 170:
      • Available at the standard Magus price ($125) until the gate closes forever.
  • For the Sharers (50% Off):
    • Matching the 500 shares from the last post, I’m releasing 50 exclusive codes for 50% off all tiers.
    • Use code: 50FOR50.

(For everything else... there's Mastercard. 💳)

  • "But Wait, there's more!":
    • If all those codes run out, you can still catch the train!
    • I’ve also dropped 25 codes for 25% off.
    • Use code: 25FOR25.

(Your mission, should you choose to accept it: Secure your spot in our Reddit 250, master your schedule, and help us declare independence from the corporate grind. This message and all associated codes will self-destruct in 80 days.)

🪄 The FREE Core & The Pro Magic Ecosystem

The core builder remains FREE: It will always generate hyperlinked PDFs perfectly scaled to your reMarkable or any other e-ink tablet.
For the Pro tiers, I've added a ton of new Templates and dashing themes, along with unlocking the API integrations that dynamically pull your real schedule.

The Tiers:

  • The Initiate ($0+):
    • Customize your own license
      • Custom Time Ranges
      • Unlimited High-Resolution Exports
      • Pro Templates & Themes
  • The Adept ($25):
    • Multiple Calendar Syncing (pulls your real calendar events).
    • Includes 25 Pro Templates and 25 Pro Themes.
  • The Magus ($125 - 250 LIMITED SEATS):
    • 10-Year access
      • All Pro features
      • All Future API integrations
  • The Merchant ($250/year):
    • Commercial license
      • Use the engine to mint and sell your own static PDF planners.

(These are 365-day licenses for the Initiate/Adept. NO auto-renewal, NO subscription traps. You buy it, you own it until it expires. I know you'll come back if it's good enough.)

🔮 Help Me Build the Roadmap

I’m looking for the next big feature or API integration. If you have an idea, drop it in the comments below! If I choose your suggestion for development, I will credit your account with a full 100% refund on your purchase (regardless of tier), or grant you a 1-year extension on your license. Let’s build the future of this planner together.

[Free Web App] Someone suggested I share my project here! I built a client-side digital planner generator. 40+ templates, no sign-ups, and 100% private.

A user from this community suggested I drop this here!

Wow, 24k views! 🤯 Here is a deep dive into the new Remarkably Organized Templates (Swipe to download the free samples!)

Hi all!

I am completely blown away by the response to my last post. Over 24,000 of you checked out the massive update to the open-source Planner Builder, and the feedback has been incredible!

Since so many of you are diving in and customizing your PDFs, I wanted to follow up with a visual guide to the new templates and layouts I've added today.

🔗 You can build your custom planner here: (https://planner.mycompassconsulting.com/)

(Pro-tip: Since you can import PNGs directly to your reMarkable, I uploaded these layouts to the image slider on this post! You can swipe through, long-press/right-click to save them, and load them onto your device as working samples or sleep screens right away!)

🖼️ Brand New Feature: The Template Gallery

Before we dive into the specific layouts, I have to mention a huge new feature I added: The Template Gallery. This gallery actually serves two purposes. First, it acts as your visual selector when you are actively building your full planner, making it so much easier to see exactly what you are putting into your PDF. Second, it allows you to download individual template pages directly to your device! This is great for those of you who just want to grab a couple of direct pages to test out rather than generating a massive multi-page document.

Whether you are building a full system or just grabbing single pages, here is exactly what you have at your disposal:

When you are building your perfect setup, here is exactly what you have at your disposal:

📅 The Daily Agendas

I know everyone's brain works a little differently, so I built four distinct daily layouts for now. Tell me how YOUR brain works and help me build the next set of templates:

  • The Executive:
    • Built for the busy professional. You get a full 12 AM - 11 PM schedule on the left, backed by a dedicated space for your Top 3 Priorities, a checklist for action items, and a dot-grid space for quick meeting notes.
  • The Mindful:
    • For those who want to balance productivity with well-being. This layout brackets your daily schedule with a morning intention/gratitude section, a robust wellness tracker (water, movement, meals, sleep, energy, and mood), and an evening reflection space.
  • The Timebox:
    • Pomodoro fans, this one is for you. Start with a massive dot-grid "Brain Dump" to get everything out of your head. Then, move tasks into the "Timebox Focus" section to estimate your 25-minute blocks before slotting them into the daily timeline.
  • The Split:
    • A clean, dual-column 12 AM - 11 PM schedule. Perfect for separating Work vs. Personal life, tracking two different projects, or coordinating schedules with a partner.

🗓️ Weekly & Calendar Views

When you need to zoom out. Whether you are mapping out a multi-week marketing campaign, coordinating event logistics, or just need to see the shape of the months ahead, these macro-views keep you oriented:

  • The Vertical Week:
    • A classic, no-nonsense week-at-a-glance. Seven columns for Sunday through Saturday, broken down hour-by-hour so you can map out your entire week's time blocks on a single page.
  • The Quarterly Calendar:
    • A clean three-month view. I added some fun, subtle emoji watermarks behind the months to give the page a bit of personality (especially great if you're using the new color Paper Pro!).
  • The Yearly Calendar:
    • Your entire year on one page. Like the quarterly view, this features dynamic, seasonal background emojis to keep your dashboard visually engaging without cluttering the dates.

💻 Work & Agile Management

For my fellow developers, managers, and remote workers, I brought proper project management layouts straight to your e-ink device:

  • The Sprint Planner:
    • Bring your Agile boards to your tablet. Define your sprint goal, then track individual tickets with MoSCoW prioritization (Must, Should, Could, Won't), time estimates, assignees, and a Kanban-style To-Do/Doing/Done status checklist.
  • Meeting Minutes:
    • Keep your standups and project syncs organized. Capture the subject, attendees, and general agenda notes, then cleanly break out your Action Items with specific owners and deadlines at the bottom.
  • Tasklist Progress:
    • A high-level task manager for tracking due dates, priorities (Must, Should, Could, Won't), and percentage-based completion progress at a glance.

🏋️ Health & Home

Managing a busy household with kids, pets, and weekly family traditions is a massive system to maintain in itself. I built these layouts to help you keep the plates spinning outside of work:

  • Meal Planner:
    • Map out your breakfasts, lunches, dinners, and snacks for the entire week. It includes a dedicated grocery list, budget tracker, and pantry stock checklist. Perfect for staying on top of weekly meal prep or making sure you have all the ingredients ready for recurring traditions like Soup Sundays.
  • Workout Log:
    • Track your daily exercise, targeted muscle groups, and duration. It features a detailed grid to log up to five sets for each specific exercise so you can visually track your strength progression.

🎯 Trackers & Collections

For the deep dives and long-term systems. Whether you are tracking financial milestones, mastering a new framework, or cataloging deep studies into esoteric philosophy, these custom collections give you the blank canvas to synthesize everything:

  • Quarterly Goals:
    • Break down your big objectives. This template gives you three months of checklist space to visually map out your milestones and ensure you are making steady progress.
  • Finance Tracker:
    • Keep your budget in check directly on your tablet. Track your starting/ending balances, date, payee, category, and line-by-line income and expenses.
  • Yearly Habit Tracker (By Month):
    • The ultimate "don't break the chain" view. A full-page grid mapping out every single day of the year (1st through 31st) across all 12 months. Perfect for tracking that one crucial daily habit.
  • Yearly Habit Tracker (By Week):
    • A macro-level tracker mapping out all 52 weeks of the year sequentially. Each row is a full Sunday-Saturday week. Ideal for weekly check-ins, long-term planning, or building a visual heat map of your year.

Quick Reminder on Presets: If you don't want to build your planner page-by-page, you can use the (12) 1-Click Presets on the site. I've pre-configured setups for Software Engineers (Agile/Standup focused), ADHD Focus (Zero clutter, huge brain dumps), Health & Fitness, Academic, and Sketch Journaling, and more.

Let me know which template is your favorite or if there is a specific layout you'd love to see added next!

Thank you all again for the amazing support, the bug reports, and the feature requests. As I mentioned in my last post, tinkering with this open-source project is keeping me sane while I hunt for my next remote engineering leadership role (CTO/Principal/Architect), so keep the feedback coming. My DMs are still open!

I updated the free planner builder (Remarkably Organized v26)!

Hi all! (Long-time lurker, first-time poster! I was so excited to share this update with the community, I finally created an account >_< )

A while ago, u/brianschwabauer built an incredible open-source planner generator for this community. It hadn't seen a major update in a while, so I decided to completely modernize the codebase and add a ton of features you all have been asking for!

Here's the link to build your own planner: Planner Builder

New Features

  1. 🚀 1-Click Presets: Don't want to build from scratch? Load up highly-optimized configurations tailored for different workflows instantly:
    • 💻 Software Engineer: Agile Sprint boards & daily standup notes.
    • 🧠 ADHD Focus: Strips out the clutter. Zero daily/weekly bloat, huge fonts, and massive brain dump pages.
    • 🏋️ Health & Fitness: Weekly meal planners & dedicated workout logs.
    • 🖋️ Bullet Journal: Pure dot-grid canvas with expansive, automatically-indexed custom collections.
    • 🎒 Academic: 24-hour schedules starting in August, built for students and teachers.
  2. 🎨 Premium Theming & Dark Mode: You can now completely customize the aesthetic. Try the sleek Midnight Nerd dark mode terminal theme, the soft Pastel Dreams, or stick to the Classic E-Ink look. Customize your typography, grid colors, and background shading.
  3. 📓 Custom Collections & Reordering: You can now create custom notebook sections (like Finance Trackers, Agile Boards, or Workout Logs), completely reorder them on the fly in the sidebar, and customize them with emojis.
  4. 📊 Live Community Analytics: I added a live dashboard to the landing page so we can see how many planners are being generated and how much collective time we spend agonizing over the perfect font pairing.
  5. ⚡ Massively Improved PDF Generation Engine: Big, multi-year planners with thousands of internal hyperlinks and dynamically calculated page counts now compile significantly faster entirely in your browser without freezing or crashing.
  6. 🌈 reMarkable Paper Pro Support: Optimized the contrast, grid scaling, and layout logic so the PDFs look perfect on the new color Paper Pro displays, while remaining perfectly crisp on older B&W devices.
  7. 📅 Advanced Calendar Parsing: Upgraded the ICS import engine so it handles recurring events and complex Google Calendar data much more reliably. Including added events to the daily agenda pages.
  8. 📱 Mobile Friendly: You can now design and export your planner straight from your phone! The entire interface is now completely mobile-friendly.

Bug Fixes

  • 🐛 ICS Calendar Sync Crashing: Fixed a critical bug where a single malformed event in your Google Calendar would crash the entire import process.
  • 🐛 Missing Gridlines/Dots on Export: Solved the issue where PDF backgrounds (like dot grids or lines) wouldn't render correctly during export.
  • 🐛 Habit Tracker Alignment: Fixed broken checkbox alignment and layout issues on the habit tracker pages.
  • 🐛 Blank Page Errors: Squashed bugs causing blank pages to occasionally render in the middle of heavy multi-year PDF exports.

The core of what made the original great is still there: it’s built entirely in your browser (no data is saved to any servers), it generates fully hyperlinked PDFs, and it is completely free to use. Huge shoutout to the original dev for laying such a fantastic foundation.

BTW if you like the planner Buy Me A Coffee! No pressure.

A quick personal note: I was recently laid off and am actively hunting for my next remote role (CTO, Principal Engineer, or Software Architect). Tinkering with massive projects like this planner builder keeps me sane between interviews, but if anyone here knows a team looking for engineering leadership, I’d love to connect. My DMs are open!

Let me know what you think of the new features! If you find any bugs or have feature requests, drop them in the comments so I can patch them. You can even open a direct support ticket right from the app's footer on the homepage!
