Beautiful Simultaneous Landing into DTW on 8/16 at Precisely 1900

I was on DL 5227 (CRJ-900) from MKE to DTW landing on runway 22R and at the same time I caught DL 2067 (A321) from ATL to DTW landing on runway 22L. It’s a great day to be flying!

MSP Sky Club Crawl in 44 Min!

The screenshot doesn’t quite get it accurate, but here’s the story….

Hit the G Club up right after deplaning and the bartender poured me up a double shot of whiskey even though she knew me and Jack Daniels got a history.

Booked it to the F Club and grabbed a Mich Ultra to hydrate. I started two steppin’ on the table, I don’t need a dance floor.

Sped walked over to the C club and picked up another double shot of whiskey. It was last call and they kicked me out the door. Oh my, good lord.

Got on the plane in time for PDB. Hope I make it to my destination in one piece!

321 and Snoopy within 11 Months - Did I hit the lottery or is the market slowing down?

Hello Omega Community,

Long-time lurker, but first time poster. I’ve read posts in this community a lot over the past two years or so since I got my first Omega, a Seamaster 300 in Summer Blue as an impulse purchase having rekindled my love for watches for the first time in about three years. Soon after, I became obsessed with the Speedmaster and Omega chronographs, which I think are the best chronographs out there. A few months later, I picked up a Sapphire Sandwich, and what a dream piece it is. I discovered the Snoopy somewhere along the way and thought it was unattainable. I asked my rep at the boutique I go to and he said that the purchase requirement was $25k to qualify for one. I was short about $9k. I don’t like playing the purchase game à la Rolex just to qualify for a watch so I was bummed out. There were no current watches I wanted and I wasn’t going to buy something just to qualify for a Snoopy.

Fast forward a few months and the Moonphase dropped. From photos, I thought it was a done deal and I’d be able to qualify for a Snoopy. Unfortunately, on seeing it, it was way too massive for my wrist. While checking that out, the Red Dial Speedmaster ‘57 caught my eye. I wore it and loved the flat link bracelet and pulled the trigger on it. I had finally hit the threshold!

I was shocked that within two months, the boutique got me the Snoopy! After all this, I thought my watch budget was closed for a couple years at least. But then, the Olympics rolled around and I was interested in a Milano Speedmaster. My amazing rep had left Omega for AP, so I met the new rep that had taken over for him. He was unable to get me the Milano to check out before they sold out. Oh well, no worries. He apologized for not being able to get me one and asked if I wanted a 321. I thought this would be impossible, but I said of course if it’s a stainless piece! I can’t afford the precious metals lol

Literally, EIGHT DAYS later, he said a 321 came in for me! What a great experience it was picking it up today! I think it’s the best of both worlds! I love the flat link bracelet on the ‘57 and the face/dial of the Sapphire Sandwich, and the 321 blends them to a perfection!

I write this post to share the good news, but also ask is this a miracle of being at the right place, right time, or a sign of the market slowing? My new rep said that this is the first one he was allocated to sell and that I was his only client that qualified. I think I just happened to get lucky becoming one of his first clients, but I’ll take it! I’m also happy to answer any questions you may have! Thanks!

GLE 63 S Leasing Experience

Lurker of this group for a long while, but first post!

I want to share my two-week experience upgrading from my 2023 GLC 43. The biggest reason for upgrading is our first baby is on the way and wanting a new “dadmobile” 🚗 👶🏻 I initially wanted the GLE 580 and had a deal pending to get one at $85k. Found out through Reddit about the 0.0001 money factors on the 24-month GLE 63 S, so thought, “what the hell, I’ll go try drive one.” Damn, that was an expensive mistake. Instantly fell for it. The ride is so much better than my GLC was. It’s a beast with sports car power, but comfortable ride. Most likely a 10+ year keeper for me. I’ll get a second sports car during my mid-life crisis. The V8 is my first V8 since my first hand-me-down car in high school, a 1996 Lincoln Town Car Cartier Edition. Still the best ride car I’ve ever been in. I digress, this is a Mercedes group lol

Negotiated with dealers all over my area for specs I liked. Some dealers thought these were still super hot and didn’t budge much, one even marked it up! 😂 After a week of negotiating with multiple dealers, I ended up with a selling price of $126,952 on a car with MSRP $142,215. The residual is at 61%, or $86,715. Since the money factor was better than free money, I got first month’s payment and all fees rolled in, so it’s a “23-month lease,” at $2009 a month, and $0 drive-off. I can’t emphasize enough the importance of negotiating electronically before walking into a dealership. This was my first time doing so and it givers us buyers so much leverage with a lot less stress. I feel like I could have gotten another $2k or so off, but I really liked the specs on the one I got.

I did a lot of research beforehand. Can’t emphasize the importance of negotiating selling price on leases (not monthly payment), don’t put anything down, don’t get any extras, make sure money factor isn’t marked up via Edmund’s, and do all negotiating beforehand.

As for my 2023 GLC 43, I spent a few days shopping around for best offers. It was well worth it and ended up getting $48,200, after multiple offers, the lowest being $43,000. I’ll invest that for the next two years and use the equity/proceeds to buy out the lease at the end.

Now, the long 1,000 mile break-in before I really get to enjoy the new whip! It was a great experience with the best car salesperson I’ve ever worked with! If y’all have any questions, I’m happy to answer them!

ETA: Many people have commented on this being a terrible lease. I intend to purchase this vehicle at the end of the lease. I wanted the lowest selling price and am essentially financing for two years at 0.0001 money factor aka 0.24%. The total rent charge is $520 for two years. If I had financed the car for 36 months at 3.99%, the first MONTH of interest charge alone would be $460. I will buy the lease at the end in cash. This is a 5-10 year purchase and I am essentially getting a free $46k loan to start. Cars are never a good investment, but my goal is to have a use cost of $8-10k a year by the time I’m done with it.
