I also would like to know on what basis I can score the post points on cause it's really short sentences for me to prove my skills?

Switching schools after DP1 to DP2

I’m switching schools for DP2 after completing DP1 at another IB school, and I’m confused about how my previous grades and coursework work when I move schools.

Also, I'm aware it reallyyy depends on the school as well cause it's a rare case scenario but if anybody has switched schools midway, and in general DP1 to DP2

Do my DP1 grades and IAs basically transfer over as they are, or do schools have some say in reassessing/remarking things or asking me to redo parts of my IAs? And how do you guys think it's going to work with predicted grades and everything that eventually gets submitted to the IB?

Both schools have agreed that they follow the same timeline so it shouldnt be much of an issue eventually while applying to colleges or so right?

Would love to hear from anyone who has switched IB schools between DP1 and DP2, especially if you know what the new school is actually allowed to change and etc

Hello everyone,

I am a 17F turning 18 in less than a month, and a student currently looking for a part-time job, but I'm mainly looking for English-friendly workplaces.

I have looked into Glassdoor and indeed but there are very limited choices with english speaking places

As a student, I would need a flexible schedule too

if anybody has any recommendation on where to look, or any places you think would suit, do drop any advice

Thank youu

Biology EE or English EE?

I'm so lost, I have two EEs right now, and I dont know which is the better one to give in, my teacher said both are solid and recieved good feedback

whichhh one usually has a higher chance of getting a higher grade? I know it depends on how good it is but I assume sciences have it hard

(dont ask me why I got two whole EEs but yeah)

What if your predicted grades are horribleee

Okay so like not horrible but I genuinely feel like I can get better grades in the real ones I'm at 5s and 6s and I am confident I can get them up BUT universities are not gonna see that are they so while applying if my predicted grades and finals are drastically different is it good to apply a year later..?

IB History HL tutors

My school doesn't offer history, so I have to self-study. Although my school provides online teachers, it still isn't helping much with coursework and tests.

so if anybody knows any IB history tutors, please do help me out!

also, it's tricky because every school or region covers different history topics, so it only gets worse to find help for such a subject.

TWE are online schools acceptable for the IB program?

Basically asking for a cousin, who doesn't have any international schools around her, but would like to do the IB program online, and sit her exams in an exam centre

do you think this is possible or are universities going to see it as a case-by-case scenario

Need a recognised high school diploma within 1 year, what are my options as an international student

Hi everyone,

I’m an international student currently living in the Netherlands, and I’m trying to figure out what my options are for finishing secondary education.

I moved to the Netherlands a few years ago and joined an international school. I have been following the international curriculum pathway, but due to circumstances with my school and my timeline of me living here, I am no longer able to continue in the way I originally planned.

I'm currently 17 years old, turning 18 soon, and have only finished my junior year of high school and am unable to continue my senior year.

The biggest issue is that I am approaching 18, and because of my situation with residency/visa and education timelines, I cannot afford to spend several more years restarting a programme. I need to find a recognised high school qualification as soon as possible.

My goal is to apply to an English-taught research university (WO level), ideally within the next admission cycle or as soon as realistically possible, which I am capable of as I have a good credit score.

I am looking into options like:

  • any other recognised English-language qualifications
  • recongnizable bilingual highschool exams?
  • someone recommended MBO but that wont get me anywhere with the background I have

I do not speak enough Dutch to easily enter the regular Dutch school system, so I am mainly looking for English-language options.

Has anyone been in a similar situation? Are there any accredited schools or programmes that could realistically allow someone with an international background to complete a university-qualifying diploma within around one year?

I am not looking for a shortcut or an unrecognised certificate cause I know im capable enough. I need something that universities in the Netherlands would actually accept.

Any advice would be really appreciated

Is “IB is not for you” a thing

logically even with consistent study habits, great organisation and crazy good effort is it possible you still not reach the mark?

do you think at that point the curriculum is just not for you? Or they are not capable of it ?

Cause I was having this conversation with someone, and they said there's no way you put effort and not yield results at any point it's probably not enough

I'm not ranting it was out of curiosity if someone feels this way.

Does having a strong IA topic matter if the analysis is top tier

Firstly, so happy for all the M26 out there. All these results are impressive and inspiring asf

Okay, so my science IA topics have been very basic; they are long, but experiments are usual and nothing that impressive topic-wise. They obviously do have great data tho, so my teacher believes that having a strong analysis is so much better than the topic itself.

I just want to know if this is alright. It could be amazing data and research-wise, but what if the topic itself is very basic? How many points do you think it would cost?

Is failing DP1 under 24 points just a school based rule or does IB actually have a role in that

My school usually fails people and ask people to repeat DP1 if they aren under 24 points at the end of the year

they dont count No IA tok, Cas, EE points that could help and even fail people who might be at 21-23 range

From this many people have been held back and not given a chance to even improve around DP2 so is this purely an IB policy?
