Seitan in airfryer

TLDR: 180°C for 12 min gives a cool texture + question how to improve technique and what spices to use)

I finally tried to make seitan from 200g commercial flour (Albert Heijn home brand, 10-12% gluten) and it turned out alright for a first time, it looked like a very loose brown-gray stringy burger patty, a bit sponge like. It didn’t fall apart so I consider it a win.

Anyways, I added some soy sauce, Polish prymat kebab/ gyros spices and sprayed olive oil and put it in the airfryer (180°C 12 min) and it looked like a baked potato or a pisang goreng and tasted like a crispy chewy love child of a bread bun and a mochi. Texture was very pleasant but specific. Now I’m going to use it to reach my protein regarding my gym goals.

Besides sharing this idea to prepare seitan, I’m also curious, what do you add to yours? What kind of marinade/ spices would you recommend? These can be savoury but also sweet. And has anyone tried the bio seitan from dm? and what are the experiences with it? I’d appreciate some info since I’m a beginner, thank u in advance!

Tips for the very first internship

Hey rats, I’m in the process of getting by last exams and in September I will be starting my BSc graduation internship of 1 year. It’s about crystal spectroscopy and storage optimisation of a gout biomarker samples and I’m pretty excited for it!! I got a thesis in form of a book of a guy that helped starting up this whole research group and I decided to look into it next month.

My question is, what are the things that are different between school lab and a ‘real’ work lab? What can I expect? How do I not come across as a total noob to my supervisor?

I’m also curious if there’s anyone here working with crystal biomarkers or a similar field, what are your best tips regarding the process and what should I pay most attention to?

Tysm for your attention, may your cells never contaminate, R^2 be above 0,99 and may you find significance whenever you’re looking for it🫶🏼 byyee

Hi! My (23F) forehead and cheeks are breaking out (maybe due to PMS, God knows why) + I’ve never experienced any issues with my cheeks before, only some sensitivity sometimes. I do AHA peelings one a week/ month (depending on blackheads and amount of dead skin cells), glycolic acid once in a blue moon and use niacinimide daily. Are there any products I should consider? I heard that azaleic(?) acid is good for redness but can’t seem to find it anywhere. pls help :’)
