E-clutch reliability

Hey everyone,

I just put a deposit for a cbr500r 2026 with the e-clutch. I researched it a lot and found it pretty interesting. I looked for reliability issues and pretty much everywhere it says it's pretty reliable, Honda stuff etc.

However recently I started delving into Reddit/Facebook forums and found that there's lots of people who are having issues with the e-clutch. I noticed most are for the 2024 cbr650r but I'm still worried.

Honestly it's something I really want.

Your thoughts and experiences?

Thanks!!

What exactly is clutch "free play"?

Hi everyone, I realize this could be a stupid/ignorant question. I have been searching online but I am confused still. When people mention free play on a clutch lever, do they mean the movement of the lever before the cable pulls/you see it physically moving, or until you feel that resistance of the clutch?

I ask because I got a rebel 500 recently and I feel like there is only 1mm - 2mm of lever movement until the cable is pulled. I can barely thouch the lever before I see it move. Is this normal? My last motorcycle, a Kawasaki Z500, had the clutch lever "loose" where I had to push it 1cm for it to return fully back. My rebel it goes fully out on it's own.

Many thanks everyone!!

Does anyone know torque values for these screws? Rebel 500.

Hey everyone. Does anyone know the torque values of the 4 bolts (2 on each side) that hold the rear fender mudguard? The ones you remove when installing a sissy bar for example. I'm finding conflicting info everywhere and can't find a manual either.

I believe they're 24nm/17,7 ft lbs.

Thank you!

Hey folks!!

I've bought the rebel 500 2 weeks ago and absolutely love it. I feel like it's one of the best (if not the best) bikes quality-wise of the A2/500cc Segment.

Anyways I'm looking for good slip-ons for this bike that don't make it sound like a loud dirt bike. I found this Larababer exhaust but in one vid it showed 97 DB!!

I like the stock exhaust. I wish I could hear more pops though, but it looks ugly!!

My budget Is around 200€ max. Not massive I know but the exhaust is not a priority ATM.

Many thanks!!
