Why are the swamp guys in Old and New Camp called "Baal"

I always thought a Baal is one of the spiritual leaders of the Swamp Camp. So why are Parvez, Isidro and the others called Baal? They also only wear Novice robes and seem to me like ordinary missionaries.

Have there always been 3 wolves with the Dam Lurker or is this new?

Just lost my permadeath run beacaus the Dam Lurker had 3 wolves as backup and they ganged up on me. I seemed tonremeber that it was only one wolf in its vicinity and that that one did not get aggro when I fought the Dam Lurker.

Is this a new thing or have I just been lucky in my previous runs?
