Ableton Live 12 Intro vs a free DAW for a beginner producer?

I'm a beginner music producer with a tight budget and I'm trying to decide whether to:

  • Learn on a free DAW and upgrade to Ableton later
  • Buy Ableton Live 12 Intro now

One concern is that some free DAWs feel a bit overwhelming to me, while Ableton looks more intuitive and inspiring to use.

How is an ordinary person supposed to protect themselves from TMC or politically affiliated people?

I just watched a video from West Bengal where a man alleges he was assaulted, threatened, and harassed by people associated with TMC after refusing their demands.

What struck me wasn't even the allegations themselves, but how helpless he seemed. It genuinely made me wonder what an ordinary citizen is supposed to do if politically affiliated people decide to target them.

People always say "go to the police," but what if the people involved have local influence? What if filing a complaint only makes things worse?

I'm not trying to start a political debate. I'm asking from a legal and practical perspective.

For those familiar with the legal system: what can an ordinary person realistically do when the people threatening them have political connections?

Does the Wharton Business & Financial Modeling certificate actually carry any weight with universities and colleges?

Hey everyone,

I'm looking into the Wharton Business and Financial Modeling Specialization (https://www.coursera.org/specializations/wharton-business-financial-modeling). While I want to learn the actual Excel and modeling skills, my main question is about academic recognition. Do universities, colleges, or business schools give this certificate any real importance?

Specifically, I’m trying to figure out if putting this on an application for a Master’s in Finance, an MBA, or a competitive economics and business undergrad program makes a difference. Do admissions committees actually value it as a sign of initiative and quantitative skill, or do they just see it as a generic online certificate that anyone can click through?

I'd love to hear from any students who have used this to boost their academic applications, or anyone familiar with how admissions offices view these specific Wharton Coursera credentials. Thanks!
