[M30] Thinking of retiring to vanlife – am I ready and how to allocate investments?

I got lucky with some good freelancing gigs over the past years and worked up to 80-hour weeks. I have accumulated around 650 000 euros of invested capital in my own company, as well as around 150 000 euros of invested net capital for me personally.

I am now M30, and I am starting to think if I should just do some kind of combination of coast/poverty fire mixed with vanlife. I have already lived mostly in the van for the last 3 years, which has helped with savings. My well-paying freelance gigs have mostly ended, and the last remaining one is due to be completed by the end of this year. While my work in programming has paid well, I am fed up with this field of work and would like to either find something more interesting or just focus on my hobbies and retire at least for the foreseeable future.

For the past three years, my expenses have been around 1000-1500 euros per month (+ van payment, but it is now fully paid off), so around 2000 euros a month or 24 000 euros a year should be easily enough for me. For context, the average salary in my country is around 30 000 euros, though I spend most of my time in cheaper countries with my van.

I now have 800 000 euros invested, from which a 3% withdrawal rate would put me at 24 000 euros. Due to the way taxes work in my country, I would be paying around 26% taxes in total from the capital that I raise from my company, so it would cost my company savings around 32 000 euros, so right at 4% withdrawal rate.

I would be interested in finding smaller gigs where I could also find some extra money, but these are of course not given.,

Right now around 60% of my investments are in SP500 and Nasdaq100, and rest is in direct stocks. Some of these stocks have done well (AMD, Nvidia, Google etc) and have explained the relatively fast accumulation of capital. But if the tide turns in the stock market, this may just as well be erased as fast as it has come, so I am thinking if I should rebalance my portfolio and sell some of the direct stocks. But then I would be facing a big tax bill.

Any advice or comments? Anything I am forgetting?

Storage locker for a month

I would need a small storage locker for around 1 month to store some stuff between moving. Any recommendations, would like to do this as cheaply as possible and preferably on the west side of oslo (baerum / asker)?

Huumeet | Nimi huumepaketissa vei naisen syytteeseen, nyt Tullia epäillään rikoksesta

Helsingin poliisi on aloittanut rikostutkinnan Tullin tutkinnanjohtajasta virkavelvollisuuden rikkomisesta.
Taustalla on helsinkiläisnaisen joutuminen syytteeseen törkeästä huumausainerikoksesta hyvin ohuin näytöin.

Expanding my trad rack to climb in Norway

I currently have a full single set of totems, and dmm nuts. So far it has been alright as I have been able to borrow a second rack of cams from my friend, but now I would like to get a full set for myself so I can also climb with people who do not have trad gear.

I mostly climb single pitch in Norway and Sweden, but also some longer multipitches.

I was thinking on getting second green, red and purple totems, and BD #4. Would this be enough? Or should I get a full second rack of Totems? Or perhaps a camalot set to go with the totems?

60km trail run in 4 weeks with questionable training backgrounf - how to make most out of the remaining time?

In March I made a bet with my friend that I can complete an ultra. I had planned to actually train this time, but then other activities, life and some flus got in the way.

I have not been able to run consistently. In March I totaled 60km (+ ~1500vm) in a month, in April bit over 80km. Almost ll of it on somewhat technical trails. I hoped these would be my weekly mileages at this point, but it is what it is.

Most of the runs I have gone out to have been 10-15 km. For these, if I keep a slow 6:30-7min pace, my HR stays well in the Z2 and I feel like I could keep on going much longer.

On top of these I have about 40-45 km of hike and flys (hiking uphill with a ~10kg paraglider). Combining running and hiking, I have around 3000m of vertical gain per month.

My general fitness level is alright, 50 vo2max, and live pretty active life with plenty of climbing, cycling, backcountry skiing, long dog walks, ball games and stuff. I have just always hated running, thats why my friend mde the bet with me.

I have a bit of a background of doing stupid events with no preparation. I have done a few adventure races (~50km run/hike, 150km mtb, rowing) and orienteering (~30km complete offroad two days a row) and similiar things, so I would think I can take some pain mentally. When going hiking, I can do multiple 40-50km days in a row without much problems.

My only goal is to finish, but there is 10h cutoff for finish and 4h mid-way cutoff after around 23km and ~1200vm. Event is UltraBirken in Norway.

How cooked am I? Should I still start racking up kilometers, or how should I use this little time I have remaining? Any other tips?
