Self promo post but pls trust me🙏

Sup yall my name is Linc - I just put out a new EP that I think fans of Samba, Pretty V, or DORIS would really like. One thing about Samba's music I really appreciate is the sense of sincerity that always anchors his music no matter the sonic landscape, and I believe I channel a similar honesty in my music.

I'd describe the vibe of this project as colorful and a bit cutesy, but with an undercurrent of yearning for comfort and stability. It has some sped-up vocals, r&b style drums, and lots of internet-core-ish samples. It's less than 15 minutes long and it would mean the world to me if anyone seeing this gave it a listen.

I deeply appreciate anyone who takes the time, I know this isn't what this sub is made for but I am really proud of my work and eager to share. Much love.

Looking for more songs like Closer by Goapele and When We Oooo by Janet

Hi, what the title says. I love these songs for their spacey production, cool minimal drums, and simple melodic vocals. I feel like I could listen to them on loop for an hour. What other songs or albums are like this? Thanks!

Roommate search options?

I'm an incoming transfer student to Clive Davis and am having difficulty with the NYU off-campus roommate search because there's no way to filter by campus (I will be looking for a place in Brooklyn). Does anyone know an alternate search method or if there's any active student communication platform where I could ask people? Thanks.

As long as ropes unravel guitar tone

Hey all, does anyone know what kind of effects might have been used to achieve the guitar tone on as long as ropes unravel? It sounds pretty simple but it’s so beautiful and I’d love to replicate it in my own music. Thanks

Carol’s Behavior

Sorry if this has been asked before, but I just watched the show (loved it) and I was a little confused by Carol's innocence in the end. Her character was my absolute favorite and I just wanted to see more of her on screen. She was the smartest out of the three protagonists by far, and throughout the show she had this amazing mix of smart and stern and sinister and sexy that made me want to keep watching. But then at the end, she was just... totally innocent?

Why did she want Floyd to have life insurance so badly? Why was she SOOOO suspicious about it when she was asking Clark (No way José on those premiums), like I know she talks weird the whole show but the way she delivered those lines I thought it was clear she had ulterior motives. And why did she want it to be completely disconnected from her and didn't even want to know about it? The way she acted when she was being interviewed was like she had planned to know as little as possible so she couldn't be effectively questioned (or didn't have to lie when they asked if she knew about it). Also, with Clark as a whole, was her whole plan from the start just to get Floyd health insurance in exchange for sex?

Was she acting in earnest that whole time?
