Saturnine Dreadnought Nemesis Operative done

Finished working on this Saturnine Dreadnought that I plan to use as a Nemesis Operative for various Salamanders-themed Kill Teams I own (Deathwatch, AoD, Wolf Scouts). Still needs a varnish layer but I'm pretty happy with it otherwise. Just need to cook up some datacards for it now!

Joint Ops Mission

Hosted a game the other week for some friends intended as a fun way to get into the game for one of them who was a first timer, and the other was my regular opponent for approved ops but hadn't played joint ops until now.

The premise of the mission was a Chaos Guard cell had taken over a foundry, manufacturing weapons and a virus bomb to use in a battle on a nearby system. The players were a mixed Deathwatch and Tempestus Aquilon kill team, with the objectives of destroying all of the weapon caches and arming the virus bomb to destroy the area, with evacuation being an optional final objective for narrative fluff.

I extended out the number of turning points for the sake of giving them time to actually reach the objectives, and added some custom rules to make an extra layer of fun. The main focus being this was a stealth mission, so enemies would just patrol routinely until spotting or hearing an operative nearby (the latter determined by a dice roll), at which point they would try and alert others and call reinforcements. Some special units like the guard dog and snipers had ways of alerting units easier and raising the total alarm. Reinforcements would start out as general Traitor Guard, but would escalate to specialists, Ogryns, and a kill team of Iron Warriors as the game progressed. Eventually a (nerfed) Murderwing Chaos Lord reinforced behind then when they were assaulting the factory, which provided a fun boss encounter as they were pushing for the virus bomb, resulting in some sacrifices for the mission to continue.

Eventually the players won, with a Deathwatch Marksman and the Aquilon Tempestor being the only survivors of the scenario, managing to reach the evac before the bomb detonated.

Did some light kitbashing to create these Iron Warriors as my Murderwing Kill Team. Pretty pleased with how they turned out.
