Temporary fix on front grill while I wait for shop to order parts?

TLDR: something to cover the metal radiator in front for a couple weeks. I was thinking metal chicken wire zip-tied down with a couple small panels.

Hey all! I rear ended someone w/ my 2012 Highlander (pic included), and the upper radiator grill fell off. I couldn't find it. Its the silver grill part between the 2 headlights in the pic, including the logo. I'm going to be waiting for the shop to order parts, so do you have any suggestions on how to safely cover my radiator since I can't get a rental until the repairs start?

I don't see any exposed tanks/major components, but would like to keep the radiator safe over the next couple weeks. I live in a small, country town, so lots of rocks, long roads with higher speed limits, and a large freeway near us, so its a non-zero risk of something getting kicked into it.

I was thinking some kind of zip-tied metal chicken wire-y thing with a couple solid panels of something semi-heat resistant (may touch radiator) to block impacts but not large enough to choke airflow.

Opened up S21+ for repairs, but can't detect SIM Card after.

TLDR: Opened phone to replace battery and charging port. Struggled during battery + sim tray removal, and applying the back glass adhesive. Phone can't text pSIM anymore, and shows a crossed out circle + "Searching" on top.

Hi All,

I opened up my S21+ for the first time due to a failing charging port, and to replace the battery (ordered opening parts from ifixit, so figured I'd get the whole kit).

Its my first time inside of a phone like this, but I was careful, and tried my best to follow the iFixit guide. I struggled a while to get the battery out, didn't really have 90%+ alcohol on me, so I dipped the ifixit guitar picks into some 70% until it eventually got through. Another issue I had was getting the sim card tray out. I had a variety of plastic and metal tips to jam in there.

Problem is that when I power on, the data bars are replaced by a crossed out circle, and the phone says its constantly searching. I have USMobile Warp, so apparently my phone isn't compatible with a Warp (Verizon towers) E-sim.

I'm going through right now and removing/reapplying the ribbon cables. Is it possible my poorly applied adhesive job (back panel), or jostling around inside could have messed up some antenna?

Recommendations for cooling/breathable pants?

Hi All,

First year experiencing the annual sale as a member, does anyone have any recommendations for cool/breathable pants? I do pottery in a hot studio (door's open, would like to avoid mosquito bites on legs) and plan to hike more this year.

Here are a few things I'm looking for/details

  • Doesn't look too outdoorsy - not too much going on visually, could be interchanged with a regular pair of chinos for everyday wear.
  • Under $125 (after sale price, not sure if I can stack a 15% welcome coupon I got through email with sale price)
  • Good for California heat (mostly dry not too much wind)
  • I'm cool with fishing a bit in the Re Supply area if you have a recommendation that's around ($200). I have about 6 stores nearby, so I'll be on the lookout!

Hey Guys,

I've been struggling with an issue on my HP Pavillion Laptop.

Ryzen 7 5825U, 16GB Ram, Radeon Graphics.

About once every couple of days, my laptop turns off, freezes in place (screen artifacts a tiny bit, then freeze on a single frame until rebooted), or BSODs with an awful noise. (screeching, static, etc. haven't had the chance to properly record it). The cause? Anything from lightly bumping my laptop stand, shifting my position in bed, etc. Its happened for almost as long as I've had it, but it doesn't necessarily have a thin bendy frame. Assuming its hardware, any obvious fixes (faulty battery, reseating something on the mobo?)
