Took a gamble on a cracked Qi35 driver head. It paid off but leaves me with questions.
Sometime beginning of May there was a cracked Qi35 driver head for sale on a golf forum. The seller said his warranty claim was denied cause he bought it used and didn’t have proof of purchase. He said the shop told him Taylormade won’t warranty it because of that. Now I’m not sure if that’s just the shop talking or if Taylormade actually made that call. I didn’t ask. The crack ran along the top side of the head. So I bought it for $100 and took a gamble on it. I went to my local Uinta golf store. Took it to the repair shop. And ask them if I can get this head replaced under warranty. I left my contact information and left. Fast forward a few weeks. I’m out of the country and I get a voicemail that my replacement head is ready to be picked up. I was like wow, ok cool.
Now I’ve done warranty claims before through Titleist. And it was simple as dropping off my clubs to my local repair shop. They start the process. And I get a replacement for it. I’ve never had to show proof of purchase. Same goes for the Qi35. Does this come down to the shop? Taylormade? Or both? Or is this luck of the draw?
