Hello everyone, I'm living in Poland for 10 months and waiting my karta pobytu by marriage, cause my wife is Polish, and according to the current situation it can take more 1 year and 2 months KUR***...
The problem is that I can't work as a Contract of Employment, but I was wondering if I can open a company Sole proprietorship or Sp. z o.o. and sign a contract with some potential employee here in Poland?
Legally and asking to chatgpt, claude and so on they hallucinate a lot with the question, reasons why I decided to brought to everyone here. Any thoughts ?
This is my case as-of May 07.
I applied for my temporary residence permit in August 2025. Nine months later, still no decision. Current status is "wniosek po opiniowaniu przez ABW, KWP, SG" since February 2026, which means the application has passed security vetting by the internal security agency, police headquarters and border guard.
Since then, silence.
I was told recently by my lawyer that waiting times can reach two years. Here's what frustrates me the most: this is a temporary residence permit. Not citizenship. Not permanent residency.
They allow us to be here on the waiting process but doesn't allow us to work. I want to contribute. I pay rent, I spend money in the local economy, I'm learning Polish. But I can't legally take a job while I wait.
If Poland acknowledges our stay during waiting time is protected, why not also grant the right to work during that same period? I also feel sorry for the immigrations office, its not their fault. But is tiring.
My case is in poznań.
How long have you been waiting? what stage are you at? has anyone seen the status move after security vetting cleared?
wish you all on the same situation to know that I got you.
