Same but different "Artemis vs Athena" post...

So I found someone selling a gently used Artemis with SRO for approximately $800 more than a new Athena V3. I'm highly considering it. I have a single hangup about it, and it's based on my experience with my Staccato HD 4.5. Obviously two completely different classes of pistol from every metric.

The hangup is that for the life of me I have never been able to get a proper handle on the HD 4.5. I shoot it like crap (for me). I can park rounds on top of rounds with the HD 4. The only real differentiator is the sight block, and I'm just wondering if that is coming into play and is the reason I fail to shoot it to my personal standards. I'm deeply interested in the Artemis, but am wondering if I'm gonna run into the same issues. Or will is be far better balanced and I'll be mad I got a the Athena instead?

Any opinions from Atlas owners would be appreciated.

Meta Glasses x Dark Forge Reaper

This is definitely what Zuck intended with these glasses. They work pretty damn well.

"What are you shooting over there?"

The Reaper attracts an audience. That's for sure.

Got her Wednesday, and have already run 1000 rounds through it like a true degenerate. Thoughts...

- It's a laser beam at any reasonable pistol range. Maybe no more accurate than the XC (my next most luxurious pistol I own), but will do it a lot faster. Definitely a "cheat code" pistol.
-Grip width is perfect even with XXL hands. And the grip itself bites without being too harsh. It seems very well thought out.
-It's LOUD indoors. It punches you in the face. Might want to double up on the ear pro if you don't have high quality hearing protection.
-The optic height is perfect. Mounting directly to the slide is the way to go. Platypus and this are definitely great in this department.
-Build quality is fantastic. Ball bearing slide, very tight tolerances, but put 1000 rounds through it with zero malfunctions or hiccups. Trigger is incredible but might not want it to be your first 2011 trigger coming from striker fired because it's very light.
-All in all, extremely satisfied with my purchase. I know it's not at Atlas (getting that in before the comments), but it's incredibly well built, has great ergonomics, and is insanely fun to shoot. 5 stars.

It's a real love hate relationship when your local dealer sells insane pistols. Traded in a couple pistols I wasn't using anymore to take the sting off and brought home the Reaper (ported and comped). Can't wait to shoot it tomorrow! The XC is the next most expensive pistol I own, so this is a slight upgrade to the arsenal. And yes, I know I skipped Atlas. That'll be the next one I get. Maybe.

Pic for attention. Highly considering the Reaper (ported and comped) at a local gun store. However, I know they make a combo version with a sight block barrel included. Have any owners successfully got the extra barrel without buying the package deal?
