NEET PG State quota seat matrix of Odisha (Posting this amid new reservation policy in Odisha)

Hi everyone,

I’ve been analyzing the seat distribution for the Odisha NEET PG State Quota recently. Since the reservation matrix can get quite complex, I’ve broken down the math based on a hypothetical pool of 100 seats to help visualize how the reservation categories and sub-categories are actually applied.

The Breakdown Methodology:

To arrive at these figures, we first split the total pool into the State Quota (50%), and then further divide that into the In-Service and Direct (Open) pools. The reservation percentages provided are applied specifically to that Direct/Open category.

Total Pool: 100 seats

  1. State Quota (50%): 50 seats

  2. In-Service Category (50% of State Quota): 25 seats

  3. Direct/Open Category (50% of State Quota): 25 seats

Direct/Open Category Allocation: 25 Seats

  1. ST (22.5%): 5.625 seats

  2. SC (16.25%): 4.0625 seats

  3. SEBC (11.25%): 2.8125 seats

  4. UR Total (50%): 12.5 seats

The Unreserved (UR) Sub-Category Impact: For those aiming for a UR seat, it is important to account for the sub-category deductions (PwD, GC, and ESM) that refine the open pool further.

Total UR Pool: 12.5 seats

  1. Sub-Category Deductions: 5% PwD + 5% GC + 3% ESM = 13% total deduction.

  2. Effective UR Pool (Remaining 87%): Roughly 10.875 seats

This is the rough calculation of seats available in state quota. There are negligible seats (~10/100) available for UR candidates in the state to take admission into a pg course, leave alone clinical pg seat.

How I fought a corrupt bank vendor and won via the RBI Ombudsman (HDFC Case)

I wanted to share my experience with a major credit card application to remind everyone: don't let banks bully you with "technical" excuses.

The Problem:

I applied for an HDFC credit card, and for months, I was hit with endless "CPV failure" excuses, claiming I was unavailable for residence verification, even though I was at the location. It quickly became clear that this wasn't just a technical glitch, a third-party vendor was actually soliciting a bribe to "clear" my application.

The Escalation:

After getting nowhere with internal support, I filed a formal complaint with the RBI Ombudsman.

The Outcome:

The Ombudsman intervened, and the results were immediate:

  1. Accountability: HDFC Bank conducted an investigation and formally confirmed that they terminated the third-party vendor involved in the bribery attempt.

  2. Compensation: After initially offering a measly voucher, the Ombudsman directed the bank to pay Rs 3,000 as compensation for the mental agony and harassment caused by their faulty process.

My Takeaway:

Banks and their vendors count on you giving up when they hit you with standard "verification failure" emails. If you have proof of misconduct, skip the endless email loops and go straight to the RBI Ombudsman.

It wasn't a perfect victory, but getting a corrupt vendor fired and forcing the bank to pay for the harassment was well worth the effort. Stand your ground!

How to get a LE (limit enhancement) offer from HDFC & axis.

Hey CC geeks,

I've been using multiple cc of hdfc & axis but barely received any LE offer till now. Mailed axis 2months back but it was denied. HDFC mentioned 17k LE can be done but cibil will be hit so i skipped.

Current scenario with HDFC & Axis.

  1. Primarily got HDFC moneyback+ CC around 2yrs back with a limit of ~120k. Then i took pixel CC transferring 30k limit from my core card. After a month moneyback+ card got a LE offer upto 143k. No LE offered henceforth and it's been more than a year. Recently upgraded my moneyback+ CC to FYF millenia 2months back along with LTF Swiggy CC, as my spends are on a higher side annual fees are not an issue for me. But I'm unable to get a LE offer.

  2. I got Axis myzone ~2yrs back just for the sake of Instant discounts at various e-commerce platforms with a limit of 1lac which subsequently enhanced to 123k. After a couple of months i got an airtel rupay CC which was my 1° card until i got Hdfc millenia. But still I've been spending heavily on my airtel axis cc, by now within 9months I've spent around 7lacs on it. I asked axis for a LE, but they rejected it saying some internal risk assessment in which i failed. It's understandable as i had 3 cibil inquiries in that month.

  3. I earn 1.07Lpm. Been into CC for last 4yrs. Apart from these big two, I've got a cc of HSBC, ICICI, IDFC, indusind, one card, Slice which i seldom use.

  4. Knowingly I've spent ~90% of CC limit of both HDFC & Axis. Don't know if it's going to work or not.

Now, I don't know what to do so that i can get a LE offer from both these banks. Please suggest some real life experiences. It would be highly appreciated.
