hi! i didn’t know if i should post here or not bc im not an employee but i think employees would know better about this-
i was just curious about how people feel about the volunteers and actually what they really do at sutter? (if you would think it’s worth the time volunteer there)
i’m debating on if i should volunteer for the oncology dpt/(potentially some other dpt??) but i fully seriously just want to be able to interact with patients and just somehow make their lives a little better with just communicating and just giving them a positive exp (i don’t wanna do hospice volunteering as of right now due to personal circumstances)
im volunteering currently at UCDMC for oncology but i feel like im not getting much out of it besides truly just the grunt work of running errands (which i expected but i thought id have some interaction, i haven’t done anything so far) so i was debating if i should try to switch to get more exposure elsewhere but idk if it’ll be any different really
just wanna know what volunteers do really, so pls lmk!!
i am in desperate need of assistance pls
this was my first plumeria and i really want this to grow but i have a feeling its too late
i bought this a month ago in hawaii from vacation and i am and have been dedicated to growing it
i did research and it said not to water it when you stick it in the soil (until it produces leaves and roots) so i did that
it’s been in soil for so long now and i hoped it would grow
i was curious so i took it out and this cutting hasn’t grown roots
it’s just been sitting outside for a while now
it’s also been really hot (recently 90-100F these past couple of days) in my area (zone 9b)
i can also tell it’s severely dehydrated but i don’t really know what to do as of right now
most of the stem is firm but slightly squishy, but two areas are concerning
the area where the soil was now has a brown ring (which looks like it rotted) and sort of near the top area was just the slightest bit squishable
i poked it in both areas to see if it’s still alive and initially the brown area came out white and then i tried another section of the brown area and nothing came out
the entire bottom (under the brown) is still completely firm though
i think the bottom overall though is just gone for-
the top area however is just slightly soft but still completely while
PLEASE HELP IDK WHAT TO DO 🥹
i want this to survive
hi! i just got this red sister (?) cordyline fructicosa today at lowe’s
this one was on clearance because of a few browning leaves, split ends (and etc)
im a little concerned about the browning circles in the middle of the plant tho, is it a watering issue from the store? when i researched online it said it was potentially fluoride levels in water
should i cut off all of the browning/splitting ends or just take off the leaves entirely (i know how to safely take them off)
but some of the leaves towards the center are browning too a little bit so i was debating if i should just leave them alone in general
i’m in zone 9b in california and im pretty new to plants; i plan on letting it get morning sun and afternoon shade the rest of the day
i was gonna wait on potentially repotting w new soil until it’s adapted more to its new space
any tips abt the leaves would be greatly appreciated, thank you :)
