Construction of the coliseum in the mid-60’s
These pictures were among my grandpa’s belongings. He worked on the construction of the coliseum in the ‘60’s. I wonder what he’d think about the fate of it today.

One out away from the complete game win. His breaking balls were keeping LBC off balance all game.
That’s twice (one against us and one with us) we’ve seen him go the distance in a month.
I hope we can see this guy another season with the club before he gets called up. What a gamer!
“Oakland snapped a 19-inning scoreless drought in the 7th on a two-run single by Logan Johnstone. While the club has to feel frustrated over its offensive production over the Modesto series and leading into the road trip in Long Beach, they shouldn’t be too discouraged–according to Corner Stripe, Long Beach and Modesto boast the second and third-best pitching staffs across the Atlantic League, American Association, and Pioneer League, trailing only the Long Island Ducks. The Coast have also defended their home turf fiercely, dropping just six games at Blair Field all season.”
Plus injury and transaction news on Hurley, Harajli, and Bufford.
As announced on their social media, starting now until game time tomorrow, the B’s are having a flash sale on all tickets. Grab your preferred seats now—follow the link in this post. Enjoy!
Amazingly, he’s the first B’s player to take home one of these awards this year. The last position player to do so was Dillon Tatum during his insane home run streak in May / June of 2025. Millikan would would take home the last award in July 2025.
Dispatches interviews Cobb, Coach Miles, Bufford, Langstone and Ybarra on a night with a lot of storylines. Like many fans, I’m still processing not having Cobb on the club.
“Tre has probably been the best Baller that we’ve ever had in our short existence,” Miles shared, pausing as he looked out into the field. “He held it down last year and took us to the championship. We don’t win it without him. This year he was well on his way to be the league MVP or at least one of the top players. For him it’s not a lost year because he’s proved he’s one of the best players in this league. He will likely be able to move on to a higher level. Tre has meant a lot to this city, this team. He’s a leader. He’s left his mark and we’re all better for it.”
I’d love to Jeter “Rampage” Ybarra break both Almanza’s and the league’s records (he needs 7 more) at Raimondi!
My mom wants a pretty garden ornament for her birthday. She loves pretty bird feeders and fairy doors and wants to continue to build out her little scene.
I visited Sloat and Cole’s and realized I’m not sure who carries interesting garden ornaments like that. Niche I know. I didn’t find much in the hardware stores. Or by searching online.
Any suggestions? Much thanks.
Tre unfortunately is headed back to the IL.
The B’s have also signed 23 y/o Los Gatos native Logan Johnstone. Johnstone is a OF who placed for Vanderbilt, Gonzaga, and Washington State. He ended his NCAA career ranking 11th in walks in the SEC.
Vanderbilt’s coach on Johnstone: “Logan is a first-year player in our program, but he carries himself with the maturity and presence of a seasoned veteran. He is a self-made player who has continued to grow at every stage of his collegiate journey, earning everything through consistency, accountability, and daily work habits. Logan arrives at the ballpark each day with the same disposition—quiet confidence, low maintenance, and a professional mindset. He is reliable and can be trusted to prepare the right way, compete the right way, and put the team first. Defensively, he is a fundamentally sound outfielder who can play all three positions with confidence and awareness. On the bases, he is instinctive and makes smart decisions. At the plate, Logan brings a professional approach, controls the strike zone, uses the entire field, and has the ability to drive the baseball. Players like Logan are the reason people stay in coaching.”
The B’s and West Oakland Cultural Action Network shared a code for Thursday’s game against the Mobiles (see graphic!). I’ll be there—enjoy the game!
“IBP, an ownership and operating group that also manages the Long Beach Coast and Oakland Ballers, will partner with the city to upgrade the baseball stadium’s food and entertainment offerings and promote the new team.”
LFG!
He always comes through when it counts!
2025 Champion Michael O’Hara, now with the Boise Hawks, returns to Raimondi this weekend. We need to greet him with a warm welcome! I’ll never forget his acrobatic catch in LF in the playoffs, crashing full speed into the fence along the bleachers.
I’m feeling sick at the thought of him being injured. Hoping it’s anything other than a ACL or PCL injury.
As broken by Dispatches, Reed Butz has re-signed with Oakland. From the picture shared by Dispstches, he’s already suited up and with the club in Long Beach.
Butz was a big part of the starting rotation in 2024 and 2025. In 2025, he went 9-5 with a 5.30 ERA and 1.678 WHIP. I’m sure he’ll slide right back into the rotation.
Butz signed in the offseason with Sioux City in the AA. He was released in July 11.
Let’s welcome back Reed to Oakland!
2025 Champion and B’s Legend Tyler Lozano will be back at Raimondi this Saturday, filling in a variety of jobs across the park.
One of those jobs is “starting at catcher” and “stepping up to the plate” in the first. I can only read that this is one final farewell start for the fan favorite, who retired this offseason.
I expect a bigger announcement to be made to broadcast Lozano’s final start. See you there!
Happy Sunday Baller Nation!
If you can believe it, we’re 1/2 through the season. The B’s will restart their playoff hopes on Tuesday in Long Beach, perhaps THE best team in the PBL. The B’s look to continue some good momentum.
Newcomer Beale gets the start in LF.
Allgeyer returns after battling an undisclosed injury for about the last week.
Cobb gets his FIRST day off of the season.
Cricket star Plunkett is expected to hit and field in his second game with the club.
As announced in a recent broadcast, the B’s have released P Dylan Delvecchio and signed CSU Stanislas alumni and Fremont native RHP Austin Balentine.
Delvecchio is a SP and RP for the B’s, part of the 2025 Championship squad and signed last month to help in relief.
The 6’5” 190 lb Balentine just graduated and was inserted immediately into relief, appearing in the 9th in Friday.
No scouting report is immediately available for Balentine. However, his stats indicate to me that he is a control pitcher who looks to induce weak contact, with a low BB rate. He has eaten a lot of innings in his NCAA career, suggesting he can start or throw out of the bullpen.
The B’s shared a promo code for 15% off all tickets on their socials today. It’s not clear how long it will be active.
Use BALLERS15OFF to grab your tickets now! Let’s support the squad as they start fresh this second half. If you’ve been thinking of going to a game, now is the time!
