First post here, but I need to talk about this. Today is Thursday April 30th, 2026. My wife and I just recently bought a house, been in it for a little over a year now. I bought the house from my godmother, so this is the house I grew up in before I got married. I work from home, my wife works at a daycare.
Before I get into the story, a little background on my situation. My mother is a single mother, and I have 3 younger brothers, all teenagers under 16. Without getting too much into it, she's had a hard time with her ex-husband, who is currently incarcerated. Because of this, my wife and I let my mother, brothers, and my elderly godmother stay with us until they found a place. Its a full house but we have plenty of bedrooms.
My youngest brother stayed home from school today. My godmother is always home. I took my wife to work this morning as I normally do, then headed to cracker barrel to get us breakfast. As I'm leaving cracker barrel, I get a call from my godmothers number; its my brother's voice. He begins screaming "there's someone in the house, there's someone in the house" I ask him to calm down and explain what's going on, and he says "there's a drugged up lady in the house trying to beat up your dogs" I have a Cane Corso and a German Shepherd.
So I'm speeding home trying to get there quickly, I arrive and there are 7 police cars and they have a large lady, butt naked, on the ground, tasered. We give the police a statement, I tell them that no one is hurt and nothing is broken, so I tell them I don't wanna press charges, the lady just needs help.
As everything calms down, I ask my godmother and brother what happened, and they explained as follows.
The lady walked into our yard, my dogs inside were barking at her. She began barking back at them in an angry manner. She then tried the doorknob, and it was unlocked (our neighborhood is relatively safe, we usually dont have to lock the doors during the day). When she entered the door, my Cane Corso lunged at her and bit her. She fell to the ground trying to get him off of her. When she got up, she made her way to our kitchen trying to defend herself from him. She threw stuff at him and grabbed a kitchen knife, to which he bit her again and made her drop it. She fled from the house, stripped her clothes for some reason, and that's around when the cops arrived.
This is the first time something like this has ever happened for me and I'm just thankful no one was hurt. Except maybe the lady from the dog bite.
