Eero 7 Pro equipment is trash

Lifelong technology hobbyist and technology professional, and I am sorely disappointed at the experience with the Eero 7 Pro equipment.
I upgraded my home service to 2.5G, because it came with a wonderful rate reduction over the 1G plan I was on -- seemed like a win.
I didn't know they needed to upgrade the ONT and home gear, but no big deal. The installer was wonderful and did a nice clean job with the ONT. He placed a single Eero 7 Pro, I set it up with the app, and I figured all was OK.
Not so much.
I previously had a three-node Eero 6E Pro setup that mostly worked OK. Same SSID on the 7 Pro to keep things easy, and everything reconnected fine to the new router.
Streaming video and web browsing seems to be OK. What's far from OK are wifi-enabled calls on phones, or any video conference services. Any device on the network encounters issues with long packet delays about every 30-45 seconds, which causes audio and video dropouts. I work from home mostly, and this setup has made it impossible to be productive. I've resorted to hotspotting off my cell phone, which works flawlessly.
I thought adding a 2nd node would help, but it was no help.
I've tried turning off every possible feature. IPv6 - off. SQM - off, Eco - off. MLO - off. Client steering - off.
The only thing enabled is Thread and UPnP, and I still get packet delays and resulting video instability.

Upgraded to 7.16.2 with hope, but zero help.

I'm out of ideas, other than buying my own mesh setup.

Anyone have innovative suggestions here?

Stelvio maintenance schedule - belt frequency

Hi all,

The experience at my local Alfa dealer has tanked lately, and I am planning to do my own maintenance. The dealership schedule seems to be a lot more aggressive than what is published in the owners manual. Example -- the manual says accessory belts get changed at 150,000 (unless inspection says otherwise, obviously), but the dealer wanted to do this every 30,000 miles. Could be a cash grab, or could be based on real world observations over hundreds of cars (hard to tell).

Are there any hard recommendations people would make against what's published in the owners manual? The two that stand off the page are the belts and coolant changes at 150,000 miles. Yes, I can choose to do those anytime I want, just asking if there is solid data out there to say absolutely change them sooner, etc.

Thanks!

Do Frontier Eero's have firmware restrictions?

Hi all. I have a Frontier-provided Pro 6E, running 7.14.1. I know Eero has released some newer firmware, but via the Eero app, I am told I'm running the newest firmware.

Does Frontier only run qualified firmware on Eero gear they provide?

Google TV app, no search function?

It must be something I'm overlooking, but I cannot find a way to search for content on the Google TV app. Am I going nuts?

Frontier-provided Pro 6E, firmware not updating?

Does Frontier control what firmware is cleared for use on Eero devices they provide? I have one that came from Frontier serving as the gateway. I've since bought three more (same model) and they all seem to have stopped updating at either 7.14.1 or 7.13.5.

The Eero app thinks my network is up to date, and I haven't found any tricks to get the nodes on the older code at least up to the same as the others.

This is maddening. The hardware seems to work OK, but they really need to make it easier to self-perform firmware updates.

Accuracy of CILS levels?

Hi all,

I joined the Praktika community about a month ago. My goal is to prepare for the B1 CILS exam as part of acquiring Italian citizenship. I am impressed so far by the app, and really enjoy the way it solves my needs for speaking practice.

I had it start at A0, and noticed a significant level-up in difficulty when I moved to the A1 track. At that point, I had the tutor speak only in italian and it was a noticeable tick up in difficulty.

Has anyone benchmarked the level estimations of Praktika to see if it aligns with the CILS framework? I'm not asking to be critical of the app, just asking so I know how to gauge my own preparedness.

Many thanks!
