I’ll be honest, I feel a bit lost right now.

I’m a 2026 btech in ai passout trying to get into AI/ML roles, but I’m struggling to understand what companies actually expect from freshers.

I dont find any fresher roles for the same. existing ai ml roles ask for experience.

I’ve worked on some projects ( ML models, a security system, RAG-based assistant) and done internships, but I still don’t feel “ready enough.”

Should I:

• keep targeting AI roles directly?
• switch focus to backend/data roles first?
• or improve specific skills before applying more?

I’d really appreciate honest advice from people already in the field. What helped you break in?

Didn't land a single job.

I land multiple interviews failed all of it, call it being unlucky. But yeah I am constantly upskilling,but being unemployed sucks when everyone else has moved on with their next phase of life.
