I built an expense tracker in Swift, got 200 active users and $288 in revenue in the last 28 days.
I built Spendaq Expense Manager, a personal expense tracker for iPhone.
No team, no funding, just me coding.
Here's where I am today:
• 200 active customers
• 188 new users in the last 28 days
• $288 revenue last month
• MRR growing steadily
• 100% bootstrapped
What actually worked:
- Keeping it simple. No bank sync, no complicated setup.
- Open app, log expense, done.
- Going multilingual early. Added German, French, Spanish, Portuguese. Half my subscribers are from Europe (Austria, Switzerland).
- Obsessing over the onboarding. 74% of users complete the tutorial. That number matters more than downloads.
- iCloud backup instead of accounts. No signup friction.
- Users trust it immediately — their data stays private on
- their own iCloud.
MRR is growing and the curve is going the right direction.
