What do you guys think about death jesters? Back in 10th they seemed to be absolute terrors in basic elf games that I saw them in but in 11th lists they seem to be gone from harlequin armies. Did something change to make them less taken or was I just exposed to an odd meta in 10th?
What do you guys think is the best first book for someone who is getting into harlequins who knows the basics of the universe but has never read any elder books. I have read Gaunts ghosts, about half of the Horus heresy books, Cain’s books, and a handful of ork and necron books. Is there a good book that focuses on the harlequins or should I start with a generic eldar book first? Extra points if it is on audible and has a good reader.
Anyone have a favorite artist for models that would work as Harlequins? I was hoping to find an artist who has a good range of them so that the army would look cohesive without being a one to one scan of the GW stuff.

I’m looking at making a silly list for a local event with some friends. My idea is to be a guard army on paper only.

Yeah only 3 models. The guard has run out of infantry so we are taking the day off. Siege regiment gives us smoke shells so all three can have stealth. Coteaz can strip cover. Abhuman auxiliaries gives take and hold. I know that most of the other guys are planning on going with purge.
My opponents know that I am bringing Guard but normally I run only infantry without vehicles so if they try to tailor their list for what I normally bring I might be able to stat check them with the big boys. A couple of the guys will definitely cut most of their anti tank if they know they are playing me.
Do you guys think this would be something you would laugh about after the fact or just be annoying?
Has anyone used just command squads with an ogryn bodyguard in 11th yet? How did they do for you? I am a big fan of them in 10th but with the new wound allocation rules I’m wondering how they performed for you guys. At 105 points they seem to be a good option.
