I went in thinking it’d just be a nostalgic, feel-good story about the music, and don’t get me wrong—I absolutely loved it. The performances, the energy, seeing how insanely talented they all were from such a young age… it really hit me how special those five were.
But at the same time, it left a pretty bitter feeling when it comes to their dad. The movie didn’t shy away from showing how hard he pushed them, and honestly, it made me really dislike him. I get that he played a huge role in shaping their success, but it’s hard to watch and not feel like the cost was way too high.
Still… you can’t deny what came out of it. Five unbelievably talented guys who changed music forever. I guess it’s one of those things where you’re grateful for the art, but conflicted about the story behind it.
Anyone else feel the same way after watching?
