Never Give Up

Change doesn’t happen overnight.

In this first picture, I was being pumped full of pills & steroids, by my doctors. My body went haywire (after I began using a prosthetic leg, for the first time). The Prednisone made weight pile-on, seemingly from one day to the next. The extra weight made it even more difficult to use my prosthetic leg, which fueled depression & hopelessness within me.

This change didn’t happen quickly. There’s six years between these two pictures. The number on the scale & these pictures may show what was lost. But, the more important story is WHAT I’VE GAINED by taking back control of my body & my life:

I gained confidence, not just in the strength of my body. But, a renewed assurance in the strength of my soul.

I gained a renewed love for being outdoors, for going on hikes, adventures & walks with my dogs.

I gained an even bigger appreciation for the gift of my mobility, especially on the days when I’m not feeling well & in bed.

I gained even more respect for others, who are dealing with countless setbacks, in their own lives. But, refuse to give up.

I gained an even closer relationship with God & the power of my Guardian Angels above, who have been there for me when I’ve felt all alone.

Aaand, in the time between these two pictures, I gained the knowledge that MY BEST DAYS ARE AHEAD OF ME, STILL. Your best days are ahead of you, as well. Take things day by day. Drink water, hug a pet, get outdoors (if possible) & fuel your mind, body & soul with goodness, strength and love.

The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that I AM WORTH FIGHTING FOR. You’re worth fighting for, too. I promise. 🫶🩷

Always love a good flashmob

I don't believe you can perform like this in as a random "jam" but I have never heard pan pipes on fire before :)
