I did it!!! Thank everyone that helped.

Platinum 100% completion. The feeling when the last 2 trophies popped is pure nostalgia and dopamine lol. Thank you everyone that helped with covenant items and the grind. DS3 is definitely the best of the series so far but my favorite platinum chase was Sekiro for sure. Anyway on to the last game of the catalog for me, DS1 remastered. (I played out of order). Let's see what it's about. Thanks again!

Blasphemous 2 is fun but confusing and idk why. (I'm a dumb noob)

Just got into Metroidvania games after playing every fromsoft game and searching for something new. Here we are. It was refreshing at first and felt like something chill I can play without too much effort and possibly a cool story with addicting combat etc. Well about 5 hours or so in I'm slightly disappointed.

The non-linear start has been confusing even with the giant quest markers and clear "mission" to beat 3 bosses etc. I've ping ponged across so many areas and really haven't gotten much of anything. I don't want to look up videos because the whole point is to experience the game myself the first time around.

Most areas initially require an item or weapon I don't have yet and I've only gotten one flask and one fervour upgrade out of like 7 areas I've explored. I found 1 sister so far for the quest and need 2 I think to unlock fast travel. That's a pain but manageable they are clearly encouraging exploration with this mechanic. Soooooo then why is there nothing to find besides more enemy gauntlets gatekeeping progression and the items that matter are locked behind puzzles or areas I have no idea how to get to. They are also few and far between I feel for instance I have like 1-2 prayers available and I managed to find the rapiers (started veredicto) that's all. Am I missing something?

This game isn't made for multiple enemy encounters at once the combat just doesn't feel built for that yet they force it in every area sometimes even twice. Fine. I can deal with that just git gud right? If the gauntlets gave nice rewards to power ups it would be much more fun. All they do is get you to the next area so it's basically a key in the form of a fight club. Lol not the worst thing but not optimal either.

Anyway I enjoy the game for the most part this is more of a MV noob shitpost just venting my experience. I'll be trying Nine sols too so let's see how that goes. Any other recommendations?

PS. If anyone has tips or comments to help me get good I'm all ears I like the game I just don't want to feel lost and underpowered if I am just missing things I should have gotten already. I'm at palace of the embroideries rn and about to try this boss. Wish me luck.
