Why don't we have All world All Cap etf?

MSCI ACWI IMI index captures essentially the whole world in a single index, developed markets, developing markets, mid caps, small caps, etc. Its also performed surprisingly well, with 10 year annualised return at 12.29%.

The closest we have is DHHF but that has a ~40% AU exposure instead of ~2% of MSCI ACWI and has performed not so well recently. I am hesitant on investing in GHHF due to the excessive home bias, it would be perfect otherwise.

I'm currently all in GGBL but want to start adding to developing markets, and small caps. How have you all structured your portfolios to fully diversify?

Even if I start adding emerging markets going forward, I will still miss Global small caps as BGBL & GGBL exclude small caps.

Am i just overthinking all of this?

Should I be making additional super contributions?

I see lots and lots of posts here from users asking on how to get started on their investing journey and contributions to super, and ideally maxing out carry forward contributions. I understand where this comes from, super if great at what it does but my gripe is that that money is not accessible until you are 60, god forbiid you are out of employment for a few years for any number of reasons and you are out of luck. This is both a blessing in disguise as you can't sell and blow that money but also a curse as you can't draw down on it while you change careers, etc.

I am in my mid 20s and never contributed anything to super apart from the mandatory employer contributions. I have shy of 50k currently sitting 80% int and 20% Aus.

Most of my wealth is outside of super, I got extremely lucky with investments (both property and stocks) where I was able to use lots of leverage in my early 20s. I currently have ~$320k in etfs (ggbl/ghhf 50% split) and also about ~450k in IP equity plus a couple months expenses in savings (12k). My long term goal is to fund a nice lifestyle using the investments, I am just really after the FI part, I will likely never fully retire but plan to travel 2 - 4 months out of the year and lots of smaller getaways. Ideally I want a lifestyle where my expenses are fully covered by the investments, so I don't have to worry about employment/business and can work on high risk high reward startup/businesses.

Is it worth for me to put anything into super at this stage in my life? I am an agressive saver and chipping in about 1 - 1.1k a week into etfs. Living with the fam and single so minimal expenses apart from neg geared prop and travel / cars.

Should I take on the risk?

Hey y'all

I have been investing in the markets for a long time, first buying btc in highschool, and then slowly lost it all and moved to stocks. To say I have a risk appetite is an understatement.

For the past few months I have been trading a lot with LNAS, IKO, GOLD, etc. I am currently at $310k ish, I have it currently sitting in IVV for the last couple of weeks (should have let it sit in gold haha)

I have been a lurker of TQQQ subreddit and its insane how well it's performed, had you invested 100k 10 years ago, you'd be sitting on millions of dollars. I know It doesn't come without risks and has volatility decay, dot com style drawdowns could nuke the portfolio for good and the stress that comes with holding leveraged products in a downturn but you can't deny the upside.

Is it worth it to trade leveraged products, i.e sit in cash and DCA in a downturn and then DCA out during bull runs or even DCA and hold them for extended periods of time?

I have a pretty high risk tolerance, don't need the money in the next few decades, 25 yo, and already have a 1m property, want to FIRE by 40s, so 20 ish years for markets to recover worst case scenario.

Is this a risk worth taking or am I being reckless?

Fuel savings is insane

Recently went from a diesel 4wd to an ev and I knew I'd be saving a lot, but not to this extent.

For a 100km trip in my diesel 4wd, it averaged 10.5l per 100km, so based on the current diesel pricing @ $2.5, that is 10.5 x 2.5 = $26.25

My average for last 2000km in my ev is 16.1 kw/100 and we have 8c ev plan. This works out to 16.1 x 0.08 = $1.288 for 100km trip.

$26 for a 100km trip in a diesel vs $1.3 in an ev. A diesel 4wd costs 20x more to run per km than an ev.

Which etfs to invest in for a multi decade hold

I have traded and held leveraged rtfs (GGUS, LNAS, BTC) etc over the last few months, and made a good coin but I just want to buy and forget now and focus on my career going forward and put all my effort there instead of spending my mental energy on news related to stocks. The last 6 months has been me watching charts for 10+ hours a day, having a tab open on my work computer and constantly watching US futures and then watching market at night. This shit has aged me so much, In retrospect I am lucky I didn't blow through my capital and came out ahead.

I admit this was pure luck, I was gambling all along. I am trying to see which etf I can buy and forget, I want max of 2 etfs. I do not want to catch them all like pokemons lol.

Option one: IVV (80%) + ASIA (20%)

Option two: GHHF (100%)

Option three: GGBL (90%) + ASIA (10%)

Option four: GGBL (100%)

I am leaning towards the last option, GGBL fits my risk profile and I only want to invest in developed markets, developing markets like India, China, Indonesia, etc have high gdp growth but it never translates well into earnings / stock growth.

I will be investing this forever essentially, I am 25, I already own a house and don't plan to buy another one, I am not going to need access to this money until I retire essentially.

Also here is a pic of my degenerate gambling from last couple of months.Commsec only shows last 6 months, but its much worse, I traded like there was no tomorrow.

Anyone taken career break?

Has anyone here taken a career break?

Life has been so mundane lately, I just want to go backpacking for a few months. The repetition is killing me, I tried to join Clubs, make new friends, date, but there is only so much you can do outside of the daily 9-5.

The only thing stopping me is blowing through investments and then not being able to get a job, thus missing compounding early on. I am in IT and we all know how bad the job situation is, I don’t even enjoy IT anymore tbh and wouldn’t mind switching, but need more clarity on what I want out of life.

currently I am 25, and financially I am alright, and can take a break for several years without having to stress about finances but I really want to be financially independent by mid 40s.

for those who took a career break, was it worth it?

I have about 300k in ETFs

13k cash

450k IP equity

49k super

i have a negative cashflow of 1.6k a month due to car loan and IP, otherwise I could very well just go to Bali or Vietnam for a few months and the etf growth alone would outpace my spendings.

Should I get a shark?

I had a diesel Triton start of this year, and sold it for an ev (model 3 LR). I love driving the thing, its so fast and my cost has gone from $120 a week to like $5.

But I miss having a ute, I liked sitting up higher, and just driving a big car, and sometimes go camping at fraser (once every 2 years). I also just like how utes look with chunky AT tyres and mods. I do not intend to tow, use the tray or drive long distances regularly, I'd rather fly insterstate.

my commute is ~100km a day, with weekend travel, this can push close to 600km. Is the shark suitable for this sort of travel?

Anyone working extra hours on the side?

Hey Y'all, curious if anyone is working extra hours on the side doing other jobs or labour work, etc to make extra money on the side?

I get paid pretty good (120k), and I have tried to job hop but at max I might get a 10k raise. I am 25, and 4ish years of experience.

I genuinely do nothing on the weekends and get so bored, and maybe a bit lonely. So it'd be nice to do something other than my day job to earn a bit of coin and keep mind occupied.

What sort of jobs could I do? I wouldn't mind road maintenance crews that operate at night, apart from the weather, it doesn't look like a bad gig to keep you busy.

I plan to retire mid 30s, and my fire number is 3ish million mark, I'd only really need 80k per year to live a good life, dont plan to get married or have kids. I might just get a cheap apartment closer to when I retire for say 500k mark and then spend a lot of time backpacking across the world.

Currently I am contributing 1.1k a week into thr etfs after all the expeses. Biggest expense is shaerehouse. If I work a second job, could possibly push this up closer to 2k mark).

Currently I am sitting on just over 1m in total nw:

450k in house equity (IP)

310k in etfs (all high growth plus leveraged etfs)

44k super

And about 250k as a gift from my grandparents (illiquid)

12k in emergency fund
