Why did ex go no contact?
I thought my ex and I were amicably separated (at least, as amicably as two exes can be). We were co-parenting pets together, so still communicated but only about the “kids” and in writing. They started showing less and less interest in visitation over a few months, so one day I asked about planning a visitation and they basically said they’re done. I asked for clarification but got no response for a week. I started getting concerned because normally they’re pretty communicative. Finally, after following up twice — the last message was practically begging just to know everything was ok since I hadn’t heard anything and I was genuinely worried — I got a very cold message that quickly ended the communication. It wasn’t “I’m never talking to you again”, but that’s the strong impression I got. I’m just really confused because everything seemed fine, and then suddenly it wasn’t. I don’t know if it was just wanting to have a completely fresh start and the pets are collateral damage, or if I did something that caused this. To be clear, I wasn’t interested in or expecting to maintain a relationship beyond co-parenting, but I was happy to remain cordial for however long our pets were with us. I just don’t understand what happened.
