Alcohol!?!

HARSH, RAW , DIRECT OPINIONS/SUPPORT I need to hear it upfront !

I’m ashamed to come on this sub and admit this but I have searched this topic in this sub and all advice/comments seem to be controversial.

Context:
FTM, with a 7 week old colic baby.

The first 7 weeks doing this solo I’ve struggled immensely.
Recently my baby has been having severe episodes for HOURS on end.
Without dragging this out, after those episodes and constant battles of getting him to settle, I wind down with a 4 pack or bottle of wine whilst he’s sleeping.

He rarely wakes up often to feed, is nearly 6kg, and never had any medical issues.

I don’t do this often but I find myself doing it more frequently 2-3 times a week.

I’ve breast fed when he wakes up and he doesn’t seem to show any signs of change in behaviour

His father left us during my pregnancy and wants nothing to do with being apart of our lives.

I feel like a failure and so selfish but I also don’t know how to cope some days when it is all so consuming.

Am I being selfish and should I seek professional help ?
is this even allowed while breastfeeding ?
Am I seriously that incapable of just trying to wind down myself when he sleeps without alcohol ? I feel like such a terrible mum and there’s no way I want to share this with his paediatrician second-guessing everything

Lastly, if I can co sleep are arms up swaddles fine or
Complete body movement is recommended ?

ANY ADVICE WOULD BE SO

Squeezing breast milk out at 37 weeks

VERY RANDOM OKAY yes I know 😭

But is this bad ??? I have heard it can stimulate labour but it’s not all the time, just sometimes I have this urge to prepare my nipples for the “tugging” and imagine its baby latching. A little bit of colostrum comes out, which I’ve been told is good to save anyway ?

I know breast feeding isn’t supposed to hurt But is squeezing my nipples that bad ? Does this help or reduce my milk supply or just a boredom/curious act.

FTM- EPIDURAL OR NATURAL?

Hi guys,
FTM here and currently 35 weeks pregnant. This post is a general curiosity into opinions and reasonings for both having the epidural vs no pain relief. I’m not opposed to any option, I’m more looking for stories on why you all chose to either have one or not.

Especially because I have heard the simple “I didn’t want to feel pain” and then simply “I wanted to see what my body could do”

Are there really any benefits/major differences ?

Never the less I’m just praying for a healthy delivery and would love to hear your thoughts!
