How to code after work. Need Advice

Hello,

I am 25 years old and have been working full time in a company since february this year.

At the moment I get to code "easy"(easy for my colleagues but not for me lol), small and other projects that have long deadlines. If I get stuck or need help, I do get help and advice.

But I want to become better and learn more.

And because of that drive I started to code after work. Daily I spend around 1 hours and 40 mins in total commuting, and no it is not possible to code because I use train, then bicycle, then bus etc.

My question is: If you work as a programmer and code at work, and also at home after work. How do you do that? Do you do small projects, or have a goal such as "Do 30 lines of code each day", or do you watch a video and repeat it yourself etc. etc.? What do you code, and How do you do that?

I am asking because I am getting more and more tired, and want to find useful tips and help.

Many thanks and sorry for my English 😄

Python/C++ in PLC?

Hi,

I am new to plc world and was wondering:

Is it possible to write code in Python or C++ programming language and "control" machines, factories and buildings? Like they use PLC language like Ladder, Function Block, CFC languages.

Is it possible for every PLC or just some curtains like Beckhoff and Siemens?

Many thanks!

4 Weeks as Automation Engineer - Advice on PLC Programmring?

Hello!

As the title says, I have been working in a company (in Europe) that provides industrial automation services such as PLC programming and project planning etc.

I am fresh out of university where I have spend 2 years learning basics of schematics, PLC programming, wiring, electrical parts etc.

But now I am literally programming whole projects in Beckhoff, Siemens in Function block diagrams and Structured text in which I have like 1% experience from school...

"So my question is: How do I get better at PLC programming by myself?"

P.S. Yes I did watch Jakob sagatowski playlist. It did help, but I still need to learn all of these things much deeper.

Thanks for all help :D

What was the most exciting PLC project you worked with so far?

As the title says, what was (or perhaps a current project) the most exciting, fun, awesome or cool PLC project that you are proud of, or something that you will remember for the rest of your life :)

Hur mycket spenderar ni på mat? Och hur sparar man?

1. Hur mycket spenderar ni på maten per månad?

Tack i förväg :D

One advice to your old self.

Hi everyone,

For someone who just finished his degree in automation 4 months ago and has been working ever since in this field as automation engineer. What advice would you give to yourself if you could go back in time, just one advice?

Thanks :D

Hi,

For many years I have been reading books from my laptop. And I am getting tired of it, but now I have the money to buy one of these E-books or E Ink books.

I was wondering if Onyx Boox BOOX Go 7 is a good choice for me who downloads books as pdfs from various sites and reads it from pdf file and not a website or so?

Thanks 😄
