Moving to Bristol for work from up north

What is the overall vibes of the place? Is it good for young professionals etc? I'll be working in the NHS

Reddit always seems to be so negative so I'm a little scared but word of mouth I always hear great things

Are there any current trainees in Severn?

Unable to look at the GMC surveys due to the education data tool but is the training well supported? A lot of service provision?I know the deanery could be fairly large but looking for some pros/cons as got a last minute offer. Happy to get a DM.

Reapplication to specialty to change region

Bit of a niche one but thought I'd ask because running out of options. Current ST1 in radiology, looking to reapply as IDT seems unlikely. I was made aware however that when you do apply, you should have less than 18 months experience by the advertised post starting date to be eligible.

My thought process however was if I possibly go LTFT that I could maybe offset this extra experience (nearly 11 months in now). Has anyone done this before? Or maybe taken an OOPC.

The recruitment team have been painfully vague and said "this year's person's specifications have not been announced yet so we cannot comment yet". Issue is I need to know in advance so that I can

  1. Apply for LTFT in time

  2. Work on getting extra portfolio points

What happens if you reapply to the same specialty to change deanery?

I know IDTs aren't always possible but if let's say you manage to get an offer again, do you continue onto ST2 for example or are you repeating it altogether?

What happens to your previous training number?
