DESPERATE FOR HELP

Hi everyone,

I’m really hoping someone can relate or offer some insight because I’m honestly at my breaking point. I’ve been battling a stubborn yeast infection for 3 months now, and it’s been mentally and physically exhausting. The azole treatments (pills and creams) never worked properly. they actually made the irritation so much worse every single time. After Fluconazole I experienced weird shedding which I thought was just yeast even though I didn't have it before the medication, after a week or so from ending the course the shedding was way less almost none existent.

I switched to boric acid suppositories about 13 days ago, which has helped somewhat, but I’ve started suspecting Cytolytic Vaginosis (CV) because nothing feels like a “normal” yeast infection anymore. A few days ago I began doing baking soda rinses to try to calm the burning and raise my pH a little.

What I’ve noticed is so confusing:

  • My skin is constantly raw, irritated, and uncomfortable.
  • Every time I do a baking soda rinse, the relief is almost immediate — the burning and irritation calm down significantly.
  • But right after, I get a noticeable increase in discharge/shedding… followed by real relief.

I don’t know what to make of this anymore. Is the extra shedding a sign that my pH is too low and the baking soda is helping break the CV cycle? Or does it mean the yeast is still very much alive and fighting? I feel so lost in this endless loop of irritation, shedding, and temporary relief.

Has anyone here experienced something similar with CV or suspected CV? Did the increased shedding after baking soda eventually lead to healing, or did it make things worse? Any advice would mean the world to me right now. I just want my body (and my peace of mind) back.

Weird discharge

Hey everyone, I’ve been dealing with a stubborn yeast infection for almost two months now (confirmed candida albicans)

I tried multiple rounds of different azoles (fluconazole pills + various azole creams) and nothing really cleared it up. About 11 days ago I started using boric acid suppositories and it’s been working so far. The itching, burning, and overall discomfort have improved dramatically.

However, I woke up this morning with noticeable discharge that looks and feels like clear-ish mucus. It’s not thick or clumpy at all – very different from the, thick discharge I used to get with my yeast infections.

I’m currently in my ovulation phase, so I’m wondering if this could just be normal ovulation mucus? Or is this a common side effect/something that happens while using boric acid? I haven’t had this type of discharge before during my yeast issues, so it’s throwing me off even though I otherwise feel much improved.
