Hi everyone,
I’m a 28-year-old woman and I’m hoping someone has experienced something similar.
Here’s my timeline:
July 4, 2025: Miscarriage.
August 2: Started taking FertyBiotic. (Has probiotics)
August 13–20: First period after the miscarriage.
August 26: Switched to Ovosicare Profiv (stopped it the next day). Around this time I started feeling vaginal discomfort.
August 27: Went to the ER because the burning became unbearable. I was prescribed sertaconazole.
After the first dose I felt better for one day, but then everything got much worse. I developed:
low-grade fever,
intense itching all over my body,
shaking/trembling,
severe vaginal burning.
Since then I’ve tried:
Sertaconazole
Fenticonazole
Clotrimazole
Dequalinium chloride (Fluomizin)
Oral fluconazole
Some treatments made me significantly worse, while Fluomizin and fluconazole made things only slightly more tolerable.
I’ve now had symptoms for about 10 months.
Symptoms
Persistent vaginal burning/itching.
Thin, watery discharge that is mostly clear but has a slight yellow-green tint.
My vagina looks completely normal on examination according to multiple gynecologists.
Pelvic ultrasounds have all been normal.
My symptoms improve dramatically during my period.

Rare leukocytes
Numerous Gram-positive bacilli
Normal vaginal flora on culture
Negative for fungi
Negative for parasites (they thought I had CV)
Fresh wet mount (July 2, 2026)
Lactobacillary grade III
Background microbiota: bacilli
No inflammation
No toxic PMNs
No hyphae
No blastospores
No clue cells
No parabasal cells
No cytolysis
Conclusion: Mild aerobic vaginitis.
My gynecologist has now prescribed Fluomizin for 12 days, followed by maintenance therapy twice a week for 3 months, and also sent another sample for fungal testing.
Has anyone experienced something similar after a miscarriage? Does this sound like aerobic vaginitis, or did your diagnosis end up being something else? I’m especially interested in hearing from people whose symptoms improved during menstruation.

Hi! I'm currently taking doxycycline after my doctor did a Pap smear and prescribed antibiotics. A few months ago, my first doctor prescribed metronidazole based on my symptoms, and now my new doctor prescribed doxycycline.

Today is my last day of taking doxycycline, but I'm still having green vaginal discharge. Sometimes the discharge is chunky, and it's become very itchy. I'm going back to my doctor tomorrow for a follow-up, but I wanted to ask if anyone has had a similar experience. What was the cause, and did the treatment eventually help?

hi i am a female 19 F and recently about 3 weeks ago i went to the gyno because i was experiencing an irritation down there after i went pee. Last time i had intercourse was around december (unprotected). When i went in my gyno looked down there she told me i had a yeast infection and thats what was causing the irritation. she also did a sti panel just in case and they all came back negative. well i was still experiencing irritation down there for about a week after but i was just waiting for my medication to kick in. I also started taking probiotics and all was well. until about yesterday i am experiencing irritation down there once again. Honestly i think it's the soap im using, i've never had this problem up until i started using this one soap. I look down there and everytime i do it looks normal so im not sure what it is. i have a gyno appointment in 2 days to see what it is but can you guys please tell me what i can do in the meantime because at this point im desperate

I am currently in hell - infection, heat wave, period

Sunday evening I feel really dry down there and I start scratching in my sleep. The next day the skin is already super raw and I'm extremely itchy on my vulva.

I spend the night at my boyfriend's and the pain is unbearable. We've been together for only about 3 months so I am super embarrassed and don't want him to know. I can't stay still and he is trying to cuddle me so I say I am going to smoke in the living room. Then I faint.

I go to the bathroom and have explosive diarrhea, I am sweating profusely and feel like I am going to throw up while trying to keep it a secret and him asking if I was okay.

The next day - horrible, so itchy, the skin is raw, my labia is swollen, foul smell and every time I pee I feel like I am going to scream from the pee touching my skin. I go to the gyno, she takes a vaginal swab and says I need to wait for results till Friday. I am horrified as this is three days away.

Today I get my period (in the summer heat with an infection) and I go to another doctor. She took a swab from the vulva this time and said it is severe and told me to take azithromycin immediately while waiting for results. She also prescribed me fluconazole. Meanwhile I cannot walk as the pad is touching my labia and feels like razors.

Has anyone had a similar experience? What was the diagnosis for you? How long to have relief?

I started having green discharge after some discomfort on my period my pad was irritating my vagina and after my period had ended I started having heavy amounts of green discharge no other symptoms just the discharge at first I had some burning while peeing but it went away and for the past month its discharge everyday and it’s very green. I’m not a virgin but me and my partner are each other first and before the discharge I hadn’t had sex for almost a month and I was positive I didn’t have any STDs and went to a free clinic to get tested after about 3 weeks of it not stopping and i tested negative for hiv chlamydia trich bv syphilis and gonorrhea and even till now about 2 almost 3 weeks later I’m still having discharge I got my period again and it ended and still discharge I’m not sure what to do I am 16 and have tried to speak to my mom and she will not take me to the doctor I need help asap for treatment if there anybody who has had something similar please help I am able to go to the store for any treatment that may get rid of this I just am really struggling and it’s making me feel so nasty with myself because I have no idea what even caused this

Hi everyone. I’m hoping to see if anyone has gone through something similar because I’m feeling really discouraged.
About a week ago I developed a burning/irritated sensation around my vaginal opening and just a little bit inside. This started the day after I had sex with condoms. The burning is usually triggered after I pee and especially after I wipe, and then it lingers for a while afterward.

Some things I’ve noticed:
* It feels much better when I’m really well hydrated.
* If I don’t drink enough water, the burning becomes more noticeable.
* It’s mostly at the vaginal opening, not deep in my pelvis.
* I’m currently on my period.
* I don’t have a fever or severe pain.

I already went to urgent care and had a vaginal swab done, culture and both came back negative. They gave me fluconazole and it didn’t work. Negative for STD’s.

One thing I’m wondering is whether this could just be irritated tissue that’s taking time to heal, or if anyone has had similar symptoms from something like a yeast infection, BV, contact dermatitis/allergic reaction, or even Ureaplasma.

If you’ve experienced something similar:
What ended up being the cause?
How long did it take to improve?
Did anything help with the burning while you were waiting for answers?
I’m just feeling defeated because I thought it was getting better yesterday, and today the irritation came back (although it’s still milder than it was at its worst).

Anybody advice would be greatly appreciated during basic in 1979. I was sexually assaulted. I’ll take a shower. My sergeant M. I was docked upside my head very hard during the assault. I did not report it because I was young and confused on what to do. shortly after I began getting sick was hospitalized with a cute respiratory disease, bronchitis, yellow jaundice, three days later ordered back to duty train for another week before I end up back in the hospital this time diagnosed with hepatitis, viral, 13 more days in the hospital then I was discharged and order back to duty only I wasn’t allowed to train a week later I was told I was being discharge two weeks later I was discharged without any benefits

It all started in October of last year. Had a yeast infection, treated with Monistat 3, it was gone. Then I got another one in November. Same treatment, sweet relief. Then it happened again in December.

Around the time of the 3rd one, I had my yearly gyno appointment and my midwife wrote me a script for fluconazole. She put multiple refills on it and I took it to knock it out that month. Did the same thing in January.

I found out I was pregnant in February and was apprehensive about refilling my prescription due to being pregnant. They them prescribed me the tetraconazole cream because Monistat 7 was causing me to spot and was irritating me further. I also started taking a probiotic That got rid of it and then I had another flare up two weeks later. They told me I'd be more susceptible to them because I was pregnant so I did another round of the cream.

I had another one a couple of weeks later in the middle of March and did the same thing. I stopped the probiotic because it didn't seem like it was helping. I was at my wits end already at that point to the point that I refilled my script for the fluconazole and had my husband take it in the event he was asymptomatic and passing it back to me.

I had a missed miscarriage at 11 weeks and a subsequent D&C on March 31st. I didn't have any yeast infections for 6 weeks and then I started having symptoms again a couple of days before my period came back in mid-May. I refilled the fluconazole again and took that.

I had another one 3 weeks ago. More fluconazole. It was my last refill.

I started having symptoms of one again yesterday, and I'm 99% sure as of today that it's another yeast infection. My 2nd period post-D&C is also slowly starting. I've requested to see if I can get more refills for my fluconazole or if I need to go back in and see the gyno.

I saw my primary doctor a couple of weeks ago and due to some other health issues and my family history, she runs a full panel of blood work on me. I made sure she checked to make sure I'm not showing markers of being prediabetic because it runs in my mother's family; they came out fine. I talked to her about it and she mentioned boric acid suppositories or trying to find out what species of yeast is causing my infections. I don't want to do the boric acid because I'm trying to get pregnant again.

I'm literally tearing my hair out. I've done multiple things to try and prevent them. I don't wear tight clothes, I don't sleep in underwear, I switched from thongs and cheekies to strictly boy shorts, I'm limiting my sugar intake, I make sure I'm dry when I get out of the shower, I'm going to start a probiotic again, I'm going to stop using a fenmine wash (though the one I've been using for years hasn't caused this problem beforehand), I refuse to take antibiotics whenever I get a sinus infection (which is 4-5 times a year, currently have been having allergy shots since February of 2025).

I'm 28. I've had maybe 4 yeast infections before this all started. I'm literally so frustrated with this.

Does anyone have any advice?

For about 8 months now I’ve had ongoing vaginal symptoms that include general irritation, dryness and itching. Sometimes it has been mentioned that my cervix looks inflamed too. I have had 5/6 yeast infections in this time that have been tested for.

I was on the copper IUD for about a year. My vulva became very dry and I’d often get quite watery discharge, with some irritation especially after sex. I was prescribed metronidazole for what looked like BV.

In the weeks that followed, the burning and itching became worse. The irritation and inflammation became so bad that I had my IUD removed. At this same time the irritation was so bad that I was given dermovate topical steroid to use on my vulva, as test results hadn’t come back yet. It came back positive with thrush. I was then treated with a SINGULAR fluconazole for this intense infection.

Since this I have had so many instances of thrush. I typically get a huge bout after my period or during ovulation. I find that heat IRRITATES me. Discharge irritates me, sex does, swimming does. It just feels like unless I’m being SUPER strict with what goes near or on my vulva, it could end in a full blown infection.

Since this has started, a few diagnoses have been flung around. Lichen planus, vulva ezcema, and now we’re at recurrent yeast. So I have been on multiple rounds of topical steroids, prescribed by my GP and am now on a 28 day course of 50mg fluconazole to try to fully eradicate the yeast. It’s helped removed some of my symptoms but my vulva all the time feels too sensitive to touch. And after going swimming the other day, I have started getting some interesting watery discharge with specks in it, as well as lots of milky discharge. it is so reactive I feel like the fluconazole prescribed is only suppressing yeast NOW. It’s not removing the main trigger. I’m wondering if maybe, since the repeated flares have been ongoing, that I have developed a form of dermatitis? Also I’m worried I’m going to become resistant to the fluconazole or if I’m becoming resistant already.

FYI I am now taking a probiotic every day, I am cutting out all processed sugars, keeping drinking alcohol at a low, I am focusing on keeping my blood sugars stable and am trying to quit vaping. I never had an issue with anything like this before my copper IUD.

I am also in the UK, and to be referred to gynae I had to wait months for my GP to refer me, and also now I have been referred it may take months and months to be able to see anyone.

Could anyone help please? I have been to the doctors so many fucking times I am sick and tired and just wanna enjoy being 20 😭

I had my gallbladder removed on May 24 after experiencing severe pain from gallstones. At the time, I was uninsured, and I struggled with the decision to move forward with the surgery because I was worried about the financial burden. However, due to the intensity of the pain, I knew it was medically necessary and decided to proceed.
Since then, I’ve been responsible for all of my medical expenses out of pocket, and the bills have been overwhelming. A couple of weeks after my surgery, I developed a yeast infection, likely related to the antibiotics I was prescribed. I went to a clinic and was treated with metronidazole, another medication, and a topical cream. Unfortunately, I believe the infection has returned as of two days ago.
I’m unsure whether I should return to a clinic or go to the hospital because I’m very concerned about the additional cost. While I’m grateful to be back at work, I’m already struggling to keep up with my current medical bills and other expenses.
I have applied for medical assistance and am currently waiting for a decision. I was told I should receive an update by the 30th, and I plan to call that day to check the status of my application. In the meantime, I’m doing my best to manage both my health and my financial situation, but I could really use any assistance or guidance that may be available.

So a few weeks ago I thought I had a water infection, pharmacy gave me 3 days of antibiotics. In this time I’d also done an sti home test kit. Whilst awaiting the results I visited the gp as the symptoms of burning when peeing we’re still there- she gave me more antibiotics and antifungal tablets, along with 2 thrush tablets to take 1 after the antibiotics and then another 72 hours later. Now it gets complicated- last week I had the sti results to say I had gonorrhea, I was mortified- never had a sit before. I went for treatment (antibiotic injection)
At this point I had the results also from the go swab to say I’d had bacterial vaginosis.
Skip to present day- I forgot to take the thrush tablet immediately after my antibiotics had finished and itching/soreness has started on my vulva but more strangely around my anus- I’ve taken the first thrush tablet. I’ve never in my life had thrush around the anus- is this even a thing? My mind is going into overdrive now and I’m so over it! Has anyone had similar?

i f(24) think i caught gonorhea from my ex, i only ever have sex with him so it must be him because i was a virgin when i met him. i broke up with him because i found out apparently he sleep and fuck around with both men and woman. it took me a long time to finally do a full check up because my discharge is getting weird. so i already got shot and taken my antibiotic.

the clinic told me to contact my past partner to inform him about the diagnosis so he can get check too but i dont even want to reach him out after all he have done to me.

ive been trying to find similar stories to feel like it’s not that bad and not the end of my life, if anyone have any advice for me i would appreciate it. thank you
