2018 Audi S3 B&O Tweeter Upgrade - Infinity REF-375TX With or Without Included Crossovers?
I'm upgrading the factory B&O tweeters in my 2018 Audi S3 and am planning to install a pair of Infinity REF-375TX tweeters.
My understanding is that the factory B&O amplifier uses DSP and active crossovers, so the signal going to the factory tweeters should already be high-passed.
My question is:
Should I install the Infinity-supplied inline crossovers, or connect the REF-375TX tweeters directly to the factory tweeter wiring without the supplied crossovers?
I'm concerned that using the Infinity crossovers could result in a "double crossover" situation and reduce output or affect the frequency response. On the other hand, I don't want to risk damaging the tweeters if the factory signal isn't filtered the way I think it is.
Has anyone installed aftermarket tweeters in a B&O-equipped Audi (S3, A3, S4, etc.) and measured or tested the factory tweeter signal?
Any advice from installers who have worked on these systems would be really appreciated.
Thanks!
