Quik Fiber Pro is now live on the App Store! Built by a fiber splicer for fiber splicers.

After months of building and getting feedback from this community, Quik Fiber Pro is now available on the Apple App Store.
I built it because I was tired of bouncing between paper notes, screenshots, photos, and closeout paperwork while working in the field.
Current features:
✅ GPS-stamped photos
✅ Splice notes
✅ Fiber color calculator
✅ Splice planner
This is just the beginning. Thanks to everyone’s feedback, I’m already working on adding:
• Enclosure type
• Handhole size
• Marker ball tracking
• Material tracking
• Copper/CAT6 support
• More tube/ribbon calculations
This app is being built with input from real technicians, so if there’s something that would make your day easier, let me know. I’ll keep improving it.

Fiber splicer here. I built a tool to replace my field notebook. What would you add?

I've been a fiber splicer for years and got tired of bouncing between paper notes, screenshots, photos, and closeout paperwork.

So I started building Quik Fiber Pro to solve problems I run into every day in the field.

Current features:

• GPS-stamped photos

• Splice notes

• Fiber calculator

• Splice planner

• Saved splice points

• Smart closeout packages

This isn't a company project or something built by software developers. I'm an active field tech building it myself based on real-world work.

I'm still early in development, so I'd rather get feedback from other technicians before adding random features.

If you could automate ONE thing in your day, what would it be?

Examples:

- Auto-generated closeout packages?

- Fiber labeling?

- Material tracking?

- GPS photo organization?

- Tube/ribbon calculations?

- Something else?

I'd genuinely appreciate any ideas.

Fiber splicer here. I built an iPhone app to replace some of my field paperwork.

I've been building an iPhone app called Quik Fiber Pro to help simplify fiber documentation in the field.

I built it because I was tired of juggling notes, photos, screenshots, and paperwork between jobs.

Current features:

• GPS-stamped photos
• Splice notes
• Smart closeout packages
• Fiber calculator
• Splice planner
• Saved splice points

I'm looking for a few fiber technicians willing to beta test it and give honest feedback before the full release.

If anyone is interested, here's the iPhone signup link:

Built by a fiber splicer, for fiber splicers.

What feature would save you the most time in the field?

Built a fiber splicing app because I got tired of splice cans never matching the prints

After years of hearing:
“Does anybody know what fiber this is?”
…I finally started building my own solution.

Built an app called QuikSplice for fiber/OSP crews.

Main goal:
Make field documentation way faster and less painful.

Current features:
• Fiber color lookup
• Ribbon lookup
• Splice notes
• GPS timestamp photos
• Input/output cable tracking
• PDF report export
• Offline workflow

The idea honestly came from opening old splice cans that look like archaeological sites from the 80s 😂

Still early beta but it’s already being tested in the field on real jobs.

Looking for honest feedback from:
- splicers
- OSP techs
- utility crews
- anyone dealing with fiber documentation chaos

What feature would actually make your day easier in the field?
