I need advice because I’m really confused about a situation with my brother’s best friend.

A while ago, my best friend asked him who he liked, and apparently I was one of the girls he liked. There were also two other girls he liked at the time. My best friend later told me about it.

The thing is, he also found out that I liked him. We never really talked about it directly after that. We stayed friends and acted like nothing happened.

At one point, he told me that he wanted to be with me, but that the problem was that he’s my brother’s friend. That’s what makes this so confusing.

Since then, we’ve continued talking all the time. We send messages throughout the day, send funny cat stickers to each other, joke around, and he sometimes sends hearts too. We have a lot in common and I genuinely enjoy talking to him.

What confuses me is that he has also told me that he likes another girl. At the same time, he still talks to me constantly and treats me differently than most people treat their friends.

I honestly don’t know what to think anymore.

Does this sound like someone who still likes me but doesn’t want to cause problems because he’s my brother’s friend? Or does it sound like he only sees me as a friend and I’m reading too much into it?

I’m not looking for people to tell me what I want to hear. I just want honest opinions because I’m really confused

I really like him, and everything feels kind of confusing right now. He doesn’t know that I know he likes me, but I do… because my best friend told me. At the same time, he does know that I like him, because she told him that too, and that just makes everything feel even more awkward and intense.

The thing is, I like him a lot. He’s super nice, and I feel really comfortable around him. I love the way he smiles at me and laughs with me—it just makes me happy in a way I can’t really explain. We also have a lot in common, which makes it even easier to talk to him and be around him.

But I don’t know what to do now. He only found out today that I like him, and he hasn’t asked me out or said anything yet, so I keep overthinking everything. I don’t know if he’s nervous, if he’s waiting, or if he’s unsure because of the situation.

And the situation makes it harder… because he’s my brother’s best friend. I don’t know how my brother would react if something actually happened between us, and that honestly scares me. I don’t want things to get weird or cause problems.

So now I’m just stuck not knowing what to say, what to do, or how to act—especially if he does ask me out. I really like him, but I’m also nervous about everything that could happen around it.
