I’m curating a Spotify playlist around dark ambient, ritual folk, neofolk and cinematic soundscapes.

I’m looking for music that feels genuinely ritualistic or esoteric in atmosphere, not just spooky or occult-looking on the surface: drones, voice, repetition, folk textures, dark acoustic music, strange liturgical moods, etc.

It includes artists like Wardruna, Heilung, Myrkur, Kalandra, Eivør, Forndom and several smaller projects as well.

The idea is not to make a random “Viking music” playlist, but a slow, immersive listening path: music for stone, mist, ritual atmospheres, inner landscapes and darker folk textures.

I’d love to discover more obscure artists in this direction. Any recommendations?
