Why, as a society are we slowly eroding our capacity for emotional intimacy? Why are people so afraid to be emotional and vulnerable to human connection?

I’ve been wondering if something has changed culturally around romance, vulnerability, and genuine emotional connection. Things that used to be seen as sweet, sincere, or romantic can now be dismissed as “corny,” “cringe,” or overly emotional. At the same time, social media seems to encourage a kind of detachment and makes it easier to maintain lots of shallow connections without developing deeper ones.

Engineering students

I’m looking to get into the engineering course here at TCD, anyone that has previously done the course, or is currently doing it, can you share some of your positive and negative experiences with this course? Do you have any general advice for a potential first year?

Can you share some experiences you had on your placement and the types of work experience you done, and those who have graduated - are you struggling to find a job?

Essentially, I’m just looking for any sort of insight and past experiences with this course and the future it holds for the graduates. 😁 share anything that comes to mind!

4 or 5 poems in the poetry essay?

I’ve studied 5 poems from each poet, however, is discussing 4 poems in detail better than discussing 5 in brief answered?
