Men should put equal to or more effort in there appearance then women .

I was talking to my coworker about and she said. It’s crazy how little effort most men put in there looks and I agreed. Then I thought about it after work and I came to a conclusion. I use a cleanser, moisturizer, hair oil and conditioner for the hair on my head and beard, Toothpaste mouthwash and cologne etc, I also weight train. After all that i still feel extremely average and rarely get compliments. All this things I assume most men do to be perceived as normal. I’m aware men don’t use makeup but not all women do either and very little women work out consistently and count macros and calories. So my conclusion is that men should put equal or at least a close amount of effort in their appearance. Could be completely wrong.

How do you stay on top of DIY projects when your energy is shot by the time you get home

Most weeknights I have maybe 90 minutes of functional energy before I am done. I teach all day, which means by the time I walk in the door I am not exactly primed to tackle a leaky faucet or build that shelf I have been putting off for three weeks

The projects pile up. I have a list. Some of it is genuinely simple stuff: replace a hinge, repot some containers, sand down a cabinet door. None of it is complicated but all of it requires me to actually start, and starting is where it falls apart on weekdays.

What I have been experimenting with is prepping everything the night before. Tools out, materials staged, whatever I need sitting there ready so I am not spending 20 minutes looking for the right bit. That part actually helps. But it only works if the project is small enough to finish in one session

What I cannot crack is the bigger stuff. Anything that takes multiple evenings tends to stall out because I lose the thread between sessions and have to refigure out where I left off. Gets annoying fast.

Curious if other guys working with limited weeknight bandwidth have figured out a system. Not talking about weekends, I get things done then. Specifically the weeknight problem.

Heavy sweating

Lately its been hotter cause its summer but im sweating way more than normal, like my face is dripping within minutes of leaving the A/C. Its so bad I have to hang my clothes up to dry outside when I get home so my room dosnt smell like sweat. My clothes get so soaked my shirt drips. Ive been taking alot more water with me to prevent dehydration ive been drinking a gallon and a half of water in my 8 hour work day but I swear I sweat it all out.

Is this normal? I was always a heavy sweater but this is ridiculous im trying to convince my self that its just really hot but I cant function like this. Imagine jumping in a swimming pool fully clothed and then trying to work like that.

Some Unsolicited Advice for Men in Their 30s (You'll Thank Me Later)

Hello men in their 30s, Congratulations! You are still young, but that will very soon change. Your body is about to start changing. Your metabolism slows, your energy dips, and if you're not careful, your waistline grows.

The good news? You can do something about it now.

I'm a 51-year-old woman, divorced, mother of one, and sister to five brothers. I played sports through my early 30s and have bike-commuted in NYC for over 25 years. I never exercised because I wanted to age well—I did it because it was fun. Looking back, those habits are probably why I've stayed fit, active, and, according to most people, youthful-looking.

The choices you make in your 30s show up in your 40s and 50s.

Look around. Too many middle-aged men haven't just gained weight—they've lost muscle, their posture has suffered, and they often look older than they are. By contrast, a lot of women the same age have held up remarkably well. Part of that is because women have spent our entire lives hearing that our appearance matters. Fair or unfair, many of us have made exercise, healthy eating, skincare, and self-care part of our routines for decades. The results are visible.

Men can do it too. Just look at gay men. Middle-age gay men look good. They look damn good because they are catering to other men, who are visual (just like you). As my gay bestie once told me, “we give each other a quick glance, and in two seconds, we know if we want to  f\*\*\* you.”

Women are visual. Maybe not to the same extent as men, but attraction still matters. A fit body, good posture, and an active lifestyle signal more than good looks—they signal that you haven't given up on yourself.

Here's my dating reality: I date men my age when I'm looking for a relationship, but I often date men in their 30s for something casual. I'd love those worlds to overlap, but the number of healthy, fit men in their 50s is surprisingly small.

So do your future self a favor. Lift weights. Ride a bike. Play a sport. Whatever you enjoy, make it a habit. Your body, your health, and your future sex life will thank you.

Namaste.

Do people actually wear bamboo underwear ?

Has anyone here actually tried bamboo underwear, or is this one of those products people pretend to like because they paid too much for it?

Afraid I’ll never quit porn

So unfortunately I started watching porn when I was around the age of 11 and now I’m about to turn 20. A few weeks ago I had the realization that I’ve almost spent half my life addicted to porn. It’s gotten worse in the past 3 years and I decided I need to make it stop because I’ve started noticing the side effects. Depression, low self-esteem, anxiety, struggling with school etc. I’ve tried to stop here and there and the longest I went was 5 days without searching it up or at least mastrubating. It’s horrible I know. Since the realization I’ve tried harder than ever and stopped taking my phone to the bathroom (cuz that’s where I usually jerk it) and it’s been hard. Haven’t done the deed in 2 days but I’ve searched up porn to check on the newest releases etc. Like it’s so tempting to just go watch one and do it but I know it’s not good for me. But I can’t see myself stopping completely. Like every new release is just another hot girl or a girl I’ve been waiting for. It’s so sad. Anyone experience this or overcome it? I need words of reassurance. I’ve never dated or asked a girl out and barely talk to girls. I sense there maybe a connection between the two but what if I can’t find a hot girl. Idk man I’m so lost.

How do you actually make time for a hobby when you've got kids and a full work schedule

I do woodworking when I can and I genuinely love it, but finding consistent time for it has become its own project. I've got two kids, I supervise a warehouse so the hours aren't always clean, and by the time dinner is done and the kids are settled I've got maybe an hour before I'm useless. I'll start something in the garage, get maybe 20 minutes in, get called back inside, and then the piece just sits there for two weeks collecting dust. It's not that I want to disappear and leave everything on my wife, but I also know that if I never carve out real time for it I'm going to be grinding myself down with no outlet. The guys I know who still have hobbies with kids either have a really understanding partner, a very specific time slot they protect, or they just don't sleep enough, and that's not something I'm trying to do. What I keep wondering is whether this is just a season of life thing where you accept it's scaled back, or if there's actually a way to keep a real hobby going without it constantly feeling like you're taking time from somewhere else. Anyone actually figured out a sustainable rhythm for this.
