What features of boutique hotels did you think were the best?

I'm acquiring a portfolio of properties, one of which is a former motel - great location, terrible condition. We are considering redevelopment as a luxury staycation and spa. It is in a tourist destination.

I've traveled a ton and have my own list of noteworthy attributes (honeycomb on the breakfast buffet) but I'd love to hear more!

It's a low-rise property with Mountain views, halfway between major cities and primary destinations. Local ski resorts, no airport.

It would also be great to hear from facility operators if you have any 'best practices ' above the normal that could be included in the renovation.

thanks in advance!

Highly durable dishwasher recommendations

Looking for a dishwasher for a house on a well in a remote area- replacement will take 2 full days so I only want to do it once.

Currently has a ~5 year old KitchenAid with a full stainless tub and body, but it just doesn't clean well.

edit:Also required connectivity is an absolute deal breaker. For starters, the house has no Internet or cell signal. Secondly networked appliances are the dumbest thing ever.

Troubleshooting existing array

I purchased a home with an existing ~6kw array and a dead older inverter.

For some reason it was wired up at 100V which is too low for any inverter I see on the market. Panels are rated for 550V so I figured I’d just rewire at the combiner and double the voltage.

i tested for ground continuity, verified the sub-circuits were fully isolated. When I wired up the sub circuits in series, 2 of the 8 immediately tripped an Internal disconnect I was unaware of and 1 circuit blew. the 2 mentioner above resumed the original voltage after a minute or so…seems like something heated up?

The other 5 circuits all showed the expected series voltage. i then reinstalled those into the combiner box with breakers and verified the voltage was accurate through the system from the box to the inverter. for the sake of testing, I used a 3k inverter so at no point should the load exceed the current limits of the wire or in-line breakers.

despite this, as soon as it was connected to the inverter, the voltage dropped to zero. No breakers were triggered, and the voltage returned to the prior value once disconnected…

wtf is going on?

Unusably laggy, suggestions?

I’ve been on the residential max plan since I started. Initially it was fantastic. Now it’s often unusable.

conference calls are getting dropped, COD freeze frames every 5-10 seconds after ~45 seconds in. I’m the only user, nothing else is running in the background. App shows zero obstructions….

I’m 5 miles off grid from the nearest power pole, much less a fiber drop.

suggestions?
