Favourite Body Lotion?

Anyone got any amazing body lotions to recommend? I’m at a point where I’m feeling happy with my skin (face) routine, but I’ve noticed recently my legs/arms are dryer than I would like, and I probably should be moisturizing more often.

I am looking for something lightweight, non oily, moisturizing - and ideally with a really nice smell. I love L’occitane’s almond products (including their body lotion) - but it feels a bit decadent to be applying it all over my body daily given the price. Worth the splurge or does anyone have a favourite that FEELS luxurious at a more reasonable price point? The random drugstore brand mega jug I found under my sink just isn’t cutting it!!

Weightlifting for a busy mom?

As a forty year old busy mom with a stressful job, exercise hasn’t been a big priority for me, and it’s starting to catch up with me ugh.

A big one is realizing that I should really be doing strength training - as I am hitting perimenopause, it’s like I can see my body softening and I’m definitely losing muscle mass for fat ugh.

Putting aside some of the usual issues (when am I going to go to the gym and how am I going to find the energy!), a major roadblock is just not knowing where to start. I need a routine, a plan to follow. Does anyone have something they recommend or use? Is it worth considering a trainer? (I’m not opposed to “investing” in my health if it actually works and I can stick to it). Just feeling totally lost, beyond having known that it’s something I need to start prioritizing.

Dry/tight skin on Tamoxifen?

Oh tamoxifen, the gift that keeps on giving. Maybe? Could this be a side effect?

I’m four years out from diagnosis with stage 1 ILC (two lymph nodes with micromets). The last few months my skin around my hips/thighs/stomach has felt dry and tight - almost like I can feel it stretching/ripping. It’s worse some days than others, and moisturizing helps a bit.

Could this be a tamoxifen symptom? Has anyone else experienced? Or is my body just literally stretching and getting bigger?

I’ve been slightly struggling with my weight on the tamoxifen - but I’ve maybe gained 5 pounds max (though probably also lost some muscle over the last few years), and this is making it feel so much more extreme, like I’m literally expanding. I don’t remember my skin feeling like it was ripping when I gained 25-30 pounds while pregnant!

Favourite cardigan/sweater for the office?

I typically wear blazers into the office, but lately I’ve been finding myself wanting to throw on a light sweater or cardigan as a layering piece or for some added warmth (transitional season where I live where it is cool in the morning - plus the office AC means I’m cold year round)

What are your favourites? Definitely something that is sleek/thin versus chunky. I’d love good quality (love sweaters with some cashmere or merino, but not a “must”) - but I also don’t want it to be TOO pricy as I find sweaters never last particularly long, even with care. Open to some brighter colours (I saw a photo of myself in a bright pink sweater ten years ago - which I’ve long since passed along - but it spurred this post!)

Ocean Creature [Washington]

Spotted this bizarre creature in a tide pool in Point Roberts, Washington (Boundary Bay, Pacific Ocean) - it had an odd “trunk” or antenna that it was searching around with. Seemingly a shell of sorts?

I’ve been visiting this beach for over 30 years and have never spotted this before, so it made me curious!
