Question about rocket launches and trajectories.

i saw in a video that the earth orbits the sun at 30km/s and that you'd need to cancel it out to reach the sun with a rocket. i don't understand, after reaching space, why not just steer towards it go straight? or about mars, all the diagrams I've seen launch the rocket while mars is closest to us, why not pre-launch so mars then sortens the distance by itself instead of lengthening it like in the diagram? these are genuine questions from an interested outsider so please forgive me if i sound dumb

The ol bullpuped carcano

In opportunity of forgotten weapons posting a video about the greek war museum id like to resubmit this absolute perfect monstrosity. from what i understand its even kind of an attraction on its own too so that's funny.

Curious about how animals can evolve to fly

So from what i remember and understand, evolution happens when members of a species are more well adapted to something than others, so they get the chances to live and breed while the non adapted ones die. So gradually they become better and better at it as a species. But isn't flying just a yes or no? If i fall from a cliff I either fly or die and since im a dinosaur of some type for example, I'll die. Since all members of my species will also die. how are there chances for the new traits to pass through? You can't be slightly better at flying than someone who can't. because you'll still die. so does that's mean the wings can evolve from a single mutation? Seems way too complex of a mechanism to not need a long evolution time

Question about cathedral interiors

I hope this is the correct place to ask. i am really in love with gothic architecture and cathedrals in general. i have been designing my own cathedral in Minecraft. its a really big project at least for me. 130x75x152 blocks or meters tall and because its Minecraft my walls are very thin and the interior space is hard to fill in without looking weird. does anyone have advice on how i should divide the compartments such as the transpepts, main hall and lady chapel and how they should be separated? i should also mention that the transpepts go inward about 7 blocks on each side, and so its has kind of a hourglass shape. instead of a cross, the roof is still cross shaped but the parts are filled in with a lower less steep roof. and the back end/apse is also taking up the full width. so proportions and weight loads are quite a bit off. here's a rough sketch i made of the shape of the cathedral. the cross hatched part is the central steeple. the hatched part is the cross roof. the unhatched part is the general shape of the temple and the less sloped roof. there are large windows on the sides and one large rose window on each transpept as well as one in the apse im asking in how the interior should be divided.

how did gargoyles become demonic looking monsters? ive visited a few cathedrals and almost all gargoyles are either some dog, or a guy puking/pooping out water

About discontinuations of flavors.

Ive seen announcements of flavors like ultra red, blue , and rosa like about a year or more before they actually get discontinued. and i can still find cans for most of them. why is it that sometimes a specific flavor like ultra watermelon for example barely gets an announcement and the cans IMMEDIATELY disappear from the face of the earth?

about monster cans with stickers

some years ago when I started my collection without any actual idea of rarity or value i bought this can of Monster MIXXD punch. and it has a sticker covering the whole thing entirely. the sticker was plastic and was identical to the real can. having no idea of rarity i pulled it off and threw it away. did i make a huge mistake? because ive never seen anything like this ever even talked about . and never found anything like it since. the sticker was legit an exact copy of the full can design

About PatchLapp

i have tried EVERYTHING to make him get down from that little cliff he's sitting on in the earthen peak ruins, Killing myself 3 times, dying to enemies 3 times. resting at the bonfire 3 times. traveling 3 times. nothing works, am i doing something wrong? even if I grab the slab myself shouldn't he just move and not give it to me?
