M30 Looking to go from strangers to best friends….maybe

Hey, figured I’d give this a shot and see who’s out there.
I’m 30, from the UK, and at the moment I’m just looking to meet some new people and hopefully make a few genuine friendships.

I’m pretty easy to talk to and happy chatting about pretty much anything from random nonsense at 2am to actually getting into those conversations where you somehow end up discussing life or why we’re all just pretending to know what we’re doing.

I’m into fantasy and sci-fi, books, films, going to the cinema, live music and gaming. I’m also always up for finding something new to get interested in.

I’m not expecting to instantly become best friends or anything. Just looking for people where the conversation actually flows and neither person eventually disappears after three messages.
If you fancy having a chat, tell me a little about yourself. Or just send me a random question — those usually make for better conversations anyway.

So, what’s something you could happily talk about for hours without getting bored?

M30 Essex | Looking for Some Good People to Talk Absolute Nonsense With

So, here I am, throwing myself into the slightly weird world of making friends on Reddit.

I’m Matt, 30, from the UK. Outside of work, I’m usually reading, watching something at the cinema, going to gigs, gaming, or generally trying to find something interesting to do with my free time.

I’ve been getting back into reading recently, particularly fantasy and sci-fi, and I’m currently working my way through the Dungeon Crawler Carl series. I’m also always up for a good film, especially if it gives me something to overanalyse afterwards.

I’m looking for people I can actually get to know rather than having a couple of conversations before we both quietly vanish into the Reddit void. I like a mixture of stupid humour, sarcastic banter and proper conversations too, so whether you want to debate something completely pointless or have one of those unexpectedly deep conversations at 1am, I’m probably up for it.

I’m not expecting instant best friends or anything dramatic. Just looking to meet some decent people, have some laughs, and see where things go.
If you fancy chatting, feel free to drop me a message. Bonus points if you start with something more interesting than “hey” although I’ll reluctantly accept it.

M30 Essex | Looking for friends and great conversations

Hi everyone,

I’m Matt, 30, male, and based in Essex. I’m hoping to meet some new people, have genuine conversations, and hopefully build a few new friendships along the way.
A little about me: I enjoy reading, especially fantasy and sci-fi, going to the cinema, attending live gigs, discovering new music, and gaming in my spare time.

It would be great to connect with people who share some of my interests, but I’m also happy to chat about pretty much anything. I enjoy conversations about everyday life, more meaningful deeper topics and plenty of humour along the way.

If you’re also looking to meet someone new and have a friendly chat, feel free to send me a message. I’d love to hear from you!

M 30 Essex Looking for genuine friendships

Hey, I’m Matt, 30, from Essex.

I don’t have a massive social circle these days (If any), so I thought I’d put myself out there and see who I might meet. I’m not really looking for loads of surface-level conversations that disappear after a few days. I would genuinely like to meet people I can actually get to know and build a proper friendship with.

I enjoy getting lost in a good book, although I’m currently trying to rebuild my reading habit rather than pretending I’m some kind of literary intellectual. I’m also a big fan of going to the cinema, especially when there’s something worth getting excited about. I enjoy going to gigs too the last gig I went to was to see MCR at Wembley!

What I am looking for is someone with whom I can have a laugh, talk absolute nonsense, or have those surprisingly good conversations that somehow last for hours.

If you’ve made it this far, congratulations you’ve survived my unofficial friendship application form. If you think we’d get along, come say hi. I promise I’m slightly more interesting in conversation than I am at writing Reddit posts.

I am currently on holiday but I am looking for new people to talk to. On the topic of holidays, tell me your favourite holiday memory!

M 30 Essex Looking for friends and genuine connections

Hey, I’m Matt, 30, from Essex.

A little bit about me:
I’m trying to get back into reading more, especially fantasy and sci-fi. I’m currently making my way through the Dungeon Crawler Carl series and I’m on book 3.
I’m also into going to the cinema and heading to gigs or shows.
My music taste is pretty all over the place, so there’s a good chance I’ll go from something I’ve been listening to for years to a band I found five minutes ago and immediately decide is my new favourite.

I play games on PC too, although I’m definitely not at the stage of being able to sit there for 12 hours straight anymore.

I’m pretty laid-back and easygoing. I like sarcasm, stupid humour and generally having a laugh, but I also enjoy proper conversations. I’m equally happy talking about something genuinely interesting or discussing something completely pointless that neither of us will ever think about again.

I’m looking to meet some new people and see if we get along. I’m not expecting everyone I talk to to suddenly become my best friend, but it’d be nice to actually get to know people rather than exchange a few messages and that be it.

So if you fancy a chat, feel free to message me. Tell me what you’re into, what you’ve been watching or reading lately, what music you’ve discovered, or just say hello and tell me a little bit about yourself.

M | 30 | Essex - Who knew finding friends in your 30’s was going to be so hard

Hey! I’m Matt, 30, from the UK.
I’m usually happiest with a good fantasy book, a trip to the cinema, live music, or discovering a new band to obsess over. I also enjoy the occasional PC gaming session, but these days it’s just one of many ways I like to unwind.

I’d describe myself as laid-back, genuinely curious, and armed with a questionable sense of humour. I love sarcastic banter, terrible puns, and conversations that start off normal before somehow ending with us debating something completely ridiculous. If sending memes counts as a love language, I’m probably fluent.

I’m hoping to meet people who are looking for a genuine friendship. I’m much more interested in getting to know someone than just swapping a few messages before disappearing into the Reddit abyss. Whether we’re talking about books, films, music, life, or whatever random topic pops into our heads, I’m always up for a good conversation.

If that sounds like your kind of vibe, come and say hi. Tell me a bit about yourself, recommend me something to read or watch, or just drop me your most controversial opinion. I’m always up for meeting good people.

M | 30 | Essex - Looking for friends and genuine connections

Hey everyone!

I’m Matt, 30, from the UK, and after realising that making friends as an adult is somehow harder than defeating the final boss in an RPG, I figured I’d give this a go.

A bit about me: I’m a big fan of fantasy books/Sci-Fi Books, gaming, cinema trips, and live music. If there’s a new book to get lost in, a game that’ll steal hundreds of hours of my life, or a concert within driving distance, I’m probably interested. I’m also the sort of person who will happily spend an hour talking about completely random topics, terrible films that somehow become masterpieces, or why buying one book somehow turns into buying five.

I’d say I’m pretty easy-going, enjoy a good laugh, and appreciate people who don’t take themselves too seriously. Dry humour, sarcastic banter, terrible puns, and sending each other the occasional meme are all welcome. Bonus points if you can recommend a book that’ll ruin my sleep schedule because I “just need one more chapter.”

I’m not looking for anything romantic just genuine friendships with people who enjoy chatting regularly, sharing random thoughts throughout the day, or jumping into a game together now and then. I would rather have a conversation that naturally wanders than awkward small talk.

If you’re also trying to expand your circle, tell me about the last thing that genuinely made you laugh, what your current hyper fixation is and what you’re currently reading or playing, or just send me your hottest (or worst) opinion. I’ll try not to judge… unless you put milk in before the cereal.

M 30 Looking for new people to play with

Hey everyone! 😊

I’m Matt, 30, from the UK, and I’m looking to meet some new people to game with and hopefully make some proper gaming friends.

I’ve been gaming for years and I’m usually jumping between RPGs, co-op games, survival games, MMOs, and anything that lets me get lost in a good adventure. I love games where you can have a laugh, chat nonsense, and somehow turn a simple mission into complete chaos 😂.
Some games I’ve enjoyed include things like Skyrim, Fallout, Halo, Stardew Valley, Old School RuneScape, Overwatch and plenty of others. I’m always up for trying something new though, so if you have a favourite game you think I should check out, I’m all ears!

Outside of gaming I’m into reading, going to the cinema, discovering new music, and heading to concerts when I get the chance.

I’m not looking for ultra-competitive teammates more people to chill with, have some good conversations, share some laughs, and enjoy playing games together.

M | 30 | East of England | Looking to find friends to talk to and genuine connections

Hey! 😊
I’m Matt, 30, from the UK, and I’m hoping to meet some new people and make a few genuine friendships. (This time with my chat actually enabled 😅

A little about me… I collect stories in all sorts of ways. Sometimes it’s getting completely lost in a book, sometimes it’s sitting in a cinema wondering why no one warned me the ending would destroy me, and other times it’s being in a crowd at a concert or a musical, singing along with people I’ve never met.

When I’m not doing that, you’ll probably find me on my PC convincing myself I’ll only play for an hour before realising it’s somehow become tomorrow.

I’m pretty laid-back, enjoy a good laugh, and I’m the sort of person who loves conversations that start off normal and somehow end with debating impossible “what if?” questions or sharing ridiculous life stories. I don’t mind whether we have loads in common or completely different interests I think that’s half the fun.

I won’t tell you everything here though. It’s more interesting when there’s still something left to discover.
If you fancy a chat, tell me something that says a lot about you without actually telling me much at all. It could be a book you’ve read three times, a song you never skip, a game you always come back to, or the place that feels most like home. I’m always up for a good conversation… and I promise I don’t bite. 😊
