2016 Actuator Woes

Hey everyone. Going to call City Diesel here in a bit, but had to stop working on the truck to go pick the kids up. Wanted to see if this has happened to any of y'all.

Had a p00af code pop up a few weeks back. Bought a City Diesel actuator and just finished installing. P00af is gone, but now I have u010c active. There's also a u010e pending, but that pops up every now and then since the weight loss.

Power and ground were good prior to swap along with resistance readings for the two data lines.

2016 2500 p00af

Hey everyone,

I want to get the hive mind's opinion.

I have a 2016 Ram 2500. Bought it at 62k miles, deleted shortly thereafter, and now has 124k miles. This past weekend I was merging onto the highway and it felt kinda sluggish - looked at the boost gauge and it was at 24/25psi. It wasn't bad enough that it made me worried, but I did take notice. As I was taking the exit I noticed the turbo brake wasn't kicking in that much (I leave it on auto).

Those two things combined caught my attention so I pulled codes and got p00af, nothing else related.

I haven't had a chance to drain the coolant and drop the actuator to check the movement of the arm, but based on the symptoms and past posts on forums it seems most likely that it's an actuator failure vs a caked up turbo. I called City Diesel since they are actually only 30 minutes from me and the guy basically said there's no guarantee, but it's most likely the actuator, for every 10 actuators we sell, we sell 1 turbo.

What are yall's thoughts? In everyone's experience am I more likely looking at an actuator or a turbo.

Alignment with Welded Drag Link

Has anyone else had problems finding a shop to do an alignment?

I need new tires and an alignment. The PO of my 2016 2500 had the drag link weld recall done. All of the recommended shops in my area have no problem setting the toe to 0 (instead of factory specs), but refuse to do an alignment once they find out about the weld. I've told them all I dont care if the steering wheel isn't centered, but they still refuse.

Are there any recommended jigs for driveway alignments? Only complaint with my current setup is outside edge of front tires is wearing faster than the rest - I assume too much toe-in.

Edit to ask: What are the recommended aftermarket HD draglinks?
