My FIL was not a very present father to my husband, and over the last 4 years he’s become best friends with our neighbor. My stepson is 16 and his entire life his grandpa only comes around when it’s convenient for him. Missing sports events and holidays when they live 10 minutes away. But every day he is over at our neighbors house now. He even parks his truck in our driveway and walks over there? (It’s a half an acre walk over) It feels like such an intrusion into our space and it really pisses me off. I like to garden and to be in my swimsuit in my private backyard (it’s my paradise and I’m a little private about my body) well now I feel I can’t even do that because he will barge over if the garage is open he sees it as an invitation to come in. I hit my limit yesterday when he parked his truck at our house for the ENTIRE DAY. Just so he could hang at our neighbors? I told my husband that he will not be parking at our house anymore and he agrees. Another thing that really annoys me too is he acts like he “owns” our neighbors. I’m friends with the neighbor wife and she is really nice and we trade flowers and plants, but if I go over there and my FIL is over at their house he acts like I’m the stranger? This is so infuriating because he was a shitty father to my husband but now he wants to insert himself into our life but to be bffs with our neighbor. Anyway, thanks for listening to me vent!!!
