Hmrc flexible working & hybrid allowance

Does anyone have experience with working around school pick up times? Working hours are 7-7, does the whole day have to be completed in the office to count as an office day? Could I work from home early or late and work the majority of the day in the office around drop off times?

Thank you!

Skin issues. Any ideas what this could be? - I Lupus girly

Can anyone help please? I have had this for a couple years now. It’s absolutely horrible and painful with the slightest touch. I can barely wear shoes and only walk very short distances.
Progressively spreading on hands and feet.
My consultant has been just prescribing steroid creams and ointments that don’t do anything, now wants to biopsy it but I couldn’t think of anything worse..
Any advice appreciated!

Single parent & poor credit

Hi all,

I’m finally knuckling down and trying to figure out how I can buy myself and my little one a forever home.

Doe anyone have experience finding a low deposit mortgage as a single parent with a CCJ (settled £500), defaults but none in the last 2 years and low credit score…

I know the more deposit the more options but shush seeing if it’s possible.

Lonely parenting

Hello!

I’m a single parent of a 4 yr old and live in a different country from family (for my own sanity they are better from afar). Although I know this is for the best I feel it’s getting harder to raise my child on my own. My child’s other parent lives in another city over 3 hours away, our co parenting relationship has actually improved significantly and I believe the distance helps this! They are involved but not enough to move closer.

I find myself feeling a little lonely atm. I’m a very independent person and have friends nearby but as we get older we see each other less. I would love to join some clubs to have some sort of social life and do something just for me but I have no childcare..

I have some family in a city not too far from here and they are always really helpful, say they’re always there for me if I need them but the distance makes it hard to really use them for babysitting etc.

I’m considering moving closer to them but have a huge feeling of guilt moving my daughter, changing school, friends etc.

Anyone have any advice or experience with this?

Thanks!

PEC - Estimated time

Hii

I finally came off the reserve list and accepted my offer. Anyone have any experience of how long the pre- employment checks can take?

Hen do cost expectations

What is the average cost of a uk hen do?

I’m going to a hen do and the cost just keeps going up. Looking at £400 per person for a two night stay away. At no point was the budget discussed beforehand or asked what were peoples limits.

Am I being unreasonable to think that it’s a bit much to ask someone to pay? I am not in the financial position to be paying for private chefs and a mansion.. There’s also close to 20 for the trip! & we are all expected to contribute to every cost.
