Wanted to share this here - I'm not Ropotopolous or affiliated with him in any way, but I always enjoy his thoughtful AC content grounded in a mastery of the parkour systems across all the games. I'm sure many in the community already know him.

His perspective in this video about BF Resynced and doing a retrospective on the original BF mechanics is likewise interesting and I believe to be worth hearing before (metaphorically) folks sharpen the pitchforks and pick up torches. Especially because he is now been tapped by Ubisoft several times as a representative of the parkour enthusiast community and has discussions with senior designers and developers about improving and evolving the parkour in the AC franchise. So, he is someone who we should expect to be somewhat influential or at least more than the average fan on the future direction of the franchise in terms of movement mechanics.

Title says it all really, but just for those that needed additional confirmation after the vague teasing from today's AMA, there is a Hood Toggle feature for Black Flag Resynced! The YouTuber Skatha posted about him playing a demo of BF Resynced early and on the desk was a control mapping scheme. Sadly most of it is incomprehensible but I can make out a couple things, notably that the DPad Up button will be used to both heal and toggle the hood on and off. This is certainly a welcome addition and I think it is the first time we can do that in an AC game (Syndicate had it but it was tied to crouching).

And for reference, the way it worked in the original Black Flag was that the hood was entirely contextual - if you were in a restricted area, Edward put on his hood.

EDIT: Thanks to some eagle-eyed commenters, it seems likely that the hood toggle is HOLD D-Pad Up while heal is PRESS D-Pad Up. This is good because it suggests we can toggle the hood in any context, not just out of combat (likewise, we can heal in any context, not just in combat). It would be similar to Shadows, in the sense that D-Pad Up heals your character while holding D-Pad Up changes time of day. So, we know this functionality works and won't conflict. Another feature someone noticed is that Regular Attack/Heavy Attack are on the same button, suggesting that a PRESS triggers a Light Attack while a HOLD triggers a Heavy Attack, just like in AC Mirage most recently. This button is by default the R1 button like the RPG games but this can obviously be remapped like in Mirage. I know I will definitely be remapping it to Square/X :) Having these two attacks be on the same button is good because it makes remapping the controller much easier!

Despite this game being labeled as supporting DualSense, the game simply won't respond to any inputs from my DualSense controller when it is connected over Bluetooth. I have Steam Input disabled already - in fact the only way for it to work wirelessly is if I turn on Steam Input and let it emulate a Xbox controller. Does this game no longer support DualSense or something? Has anyone had luck solving this issue?
