To the girls: has a stranger ever approached you in a way that felt genuinely okay?

Girls of Reddit, what's the best way a stranger has approached you that actually didn't feel weird or creepy?

Let's be real, a lot of guys have no idea where the line is, and most advice out there is either too cheesy or just doesn't work in real life.

So I'm genuinely curious has a stranger ever approached you in a way that felt respectful, natural, and didn't make you want to walk away immediately? What did they do or say?

Whether it was at a café, on the MRT, at the gym, or just walking down the street share what actually worked or what left a good impression. It doesn't have to have led to anything, just an approach that felt human and not uncomfortable.

Feel free to share if you have any experience!

Singaporeans, what are your everyday habits that you lowkey think everyone should be doing?

Okay so I've been doing a few things lately and I'm curious if anyone else is on the same wavelength.

I've started sanitising my devices after using them outside, bringing my own water bottle everywhere, using my own container for takeaway food, and carrying a paper bag when I go shopping.

Honestly it started feeling weird but now it's second nature and I can't imagine going back.

Are any of you doing the same? Or do you have other habits you've quietly picked up that you think more Singaporeans should adopt?

Drop them below, genuinely curious what the rest of you are doing.

Controversial: Does going to NUS/NTU/SMU actually get you paid more in 2026

Be honest would you judge someone's resume differently if they went to SIM vs NUS?

Just curious how people actually feel about this in today's context. Does the SG Big 3 (NUS, NTU, SMU) or even the local 6 still carry that prestige when it comes to hiring and pay?

Do grads from local unis genuinely come out earning more? Or is that gap closing?

And what about private uni students some of them really fight hard to get in and graduate.Does that effort get recognised by employers, or does the stigma still exist?

Would love to hear from both sides, employers, fresh grads, and even those who've been in the workforce for a while.

Do parents still spend quality time with their kids?

Hi, I’m curious about how parents spend time with their children nowadays.

Back when I was younger, I used to go to playgrounds, play board games, and spend simple quality time with my mum.

But with technology becoming such a big part of daily life, has parenting changed? Do parents now spend more time playing online games or using devices together with their kids?

Even education feels very different. In the past, discipline often came through caning or verbal scolding, and learning was mostly done through books and face-to-face teaching.

Now, many children learn through iPads, laptops, YouTube videos, and educational apps.

Do you think technology has improved parenting and learning, or has it changed the parent-child relationship too much?

Are Parents Becoming Too Kiasu About Medicine?

Today I overheard a parent asking about Duke-NUS and how she could start preparing her son for medicine.

Then I found out the son is only in Sec 3/4. To my surprise, not even completed his tertiary education.

He’s already done hospital job shadowing and planning his pathway this early.

Honestly, I was caught off guard. At that age, I was probably just trying to survive exams and decide what to eat after school.

It made me wonder, are parents really becoming more “kiasu”, or is this just the new normal for competitive courses like medicine?

Note: Duke-NUS is a postgraduate medical school, meaning you first need to complete an undergraduate degree before even applying.

In life, is being a doctor deemed to be successful?

Did you hear of such stories before?

Good AI Courses in Singapore That Are Actually Useful?

Hi, I’m curious if there are any good courses in Singapore related to AI drawing, AI music, AI marketing, or content creation using AI.

I’ve been exploring AI recently and wanted to see if there are any interesting beginner-friendly courses worth taking in my free time, especially skills that could potentially generate side income or be useful in the future.

Open to both online and physical classes. Would appreciate any recommendations, thanks!

Controversial Topic: Is It Actually Easier to Enter Top Companies Through Connections?

With the current job market, genuinely curious about people’s experiences with this.

For highly competitive companies like JPMorgan, Jane Street, Goldman Sachs, MBB consulting, top tech firms, etc, how much do connections actually matter?

Have you personally seen cases where:
- referrals significantly boosted someone’s chances,
- networking opened doors that grades alone couldn’t,
- or people got opportunities mainly because they knew the right people?

At the same time, do you think experience still outweighs connections at the end of the day?

Interested to hear honest experiences from people who’ve gone through recruiting themselves.

Do Corporate Workers Actually Wear New Outfits Every Day?

Genuinely curious for those working corporate jobs, do you all actually wear a different outfit every single workday, or is rewearing outfits pretty normal (airdry)?

Especially for people working 5–6 days a week… I can’t imagine maintaining an endless wardrobe rotation.

“Red Flags” in a partner that you avoid

Hi, I was scrolling through TikTok and saw many people saying that if a partner has cheated before, they would never choose them because ‘cheaters always cheat.’ Is that really true? Will you forgive them?

I’m also wondering, if someone has had many ex-partners before, how do you overcome that sense of insecurity?

Seeing so many TikToks about people finding their partners on dating apps even though they are already in a relationship is quite daunting.

Would you give someone a second chance in that situation? If so, how did they respond?

Also, are there any red flags in a potential partner that you think people should be more aware of such as physical abuse, emotional abuse or even badmouthing you behind your back.

Feel free to share any interesting stories!

How do people actually get better at vectors and differentiation?

Im actually curious how people improve in topics like vectors and differentiation.

For vectors especially, it feels like you need a lot of spatial awareness and visualisation skills, which is something I personally struggle with.

Since it’s also been awhile since I last touched math properly, I feel quite rusty revisiting these topics again.

For those who became better at these areas, how did you do it? Was it mainly through practice, visualisation, understanding concepts deeply, or just repeatedly doing questions until it clicks?

Would appreciate hearing how others approached learning these topics.

Why do some people stay in “below standard” relationships?

Have you ever seen friends date people who don’t really meet what society considers “high standards”? Sometimes it makes you wonder why they chose that person, or even feel they could have done better.

It also makes me think, why is dating so difficult nowadays in Singapore? Are expectations becoming too high, or do people feel they themselves are lacking certain qualities?

Maybe social media and comparison have changed the way we view relationships and standards.

What do you think matters most in dating today, and is it still realistic to find meaningful relationships in this generation?

How will Singapore react to Hantavirus

With the recent news about Hantavirus, I’m curious how Singapore would react if another outbreak were to happen.

  1. What do you think the government would do first to protect Singapore’s economy and citizens?

  2. Do you think Singaporeans are prepared for another outbreak after COVID-19, or would people not want to go through that again?

Curious to hear your thoughts.

How Do Cheaters Actually Live With Themselves?

Do they feel a sense of guilt? Regret? Nothing at all? Or do they just move on like it never happened?
