New here - Meet Brynna (and her sister, Mardoll) to

Hello! I just joined and wanted to introduce you to my Brynna and her orange sister, Mardoll

Brynna is just over 2, and amari's a little over one. They've been with me for a little over a year and are wonderful girls.

Brynna was really shy when she joined our family and it's been a blessing to watch her as she's gotten used to being here and has really blossomed. At firstshe didn't let anyone pet her, then after a couple of months, she let my husband and a bit after that started letting our roommate (who is my daytime caretaker - I'm bedridden) pet her occasionally. I'm still waiting for her to let me pet her. She's starting to accept some small touches, and I know she's comfortable around me in general give. How much time she spends sleeping on the corner of my bed or looking, out the window less than a foot from my head - and she's fine climbing kup on me to drape her head over the tablet I use when she wants to tell me it's treat time, so I figure it'll happen at some point -LOL!

Anyway, here's a pic of her and one of her and Mardoll!

A Quartet of Snoots to Boop!

Hello! I'm new here, and have babies in dire need of a mass booping.

Up first is Von, a 6-year-old Pitbull mix. He needs constant treats, pets and boops, and is very gentle.

Next is Sasha, a 5-year-old Pitbull/St. Bernard mix. She's more playful than Von and wags her tail so hard when someone comes over to pet her, we worry she might break furniture!

Then we have the first of our cats, Brynna, who's a 2-year-old tortie - and, yes, she has the attitude. But she's also very sweet. She was pretty timid when she first came home, but in the year she's been here, she's really blossomed!

And last, but certainly not least, is Mardoll, our year-old orange floofball. She's playful, energetic and always surprising us. I often wonder if she somehow managed to sneak in an extra brain cell as she seems to understand things I wouldn't imagine possible with the standard single cell orange cats come equipped with. But then she to do something else and leave me wondering if she actually has any.

Nice to meet you all!

Help with behavior

Hi! I need advice about a couple of recent behavior changes that are a bit distressing.

This is a long post, so here's a TL/DR version: My cat has suddenly stopped being affectionate to me -at all - and has been walking around with her tail drooping for about a week.

This is Mardoll, my year old floofball. I'm bedridden, so the only time I get to interact with her is when she comes in to see me. Until about a week ago, that was pretty often, and at least a couple of times every day, she'd come in, lay on my chest and let me pet her all over, which she really seemed to enjoy. I've always been careful not to hold on to her once she's ready to leave.

Since the middle of last week, however, she's stopped doing that, totally, and now only comes in when she wants treats. Worse, when she does come to ask for treats, she consistently sits *just* out of reach so I can't pet her, and if she does get close enough and I try to pet her she jumps off this bed and runs away. She will play with a dangle toy I'm holding or puppet toy I wear on my hand, and when hubby's playing with the dangle toy, I can pet her then.

At about the same time. I've noticed that rather than carrying her tail high, like she usually does, she's been letting it droop. I've read that this can be an indication that something is wrong.

Neither my husband nor our roommate (who takes care of me when hubby's working) have noticed a change in her letting them pet her.

I'm sorry this is kind of long, but I'm worried she may be sick but is trying to hide it (energy level, eating and drinking have been normal), and if she isn't sick, I need to know how to repair our relationship , if possible. Thanks for any help you can offer!

Grats on the shout out!

Congrats on the shout-out you got Friday the 24th on the new soap Beyond the Gates! They had a scene where a fashion influencer was wanting to do a Livestream about organ donation and the girshe wanted to interview was wondering why she was doing it, and asked if she was "doing a collab with Doctor Mike or something?"

Just thought it was cool 👍

The Tornados "Watch"

On today's episode, CBS did a bad job with the Tornado Watch thing. I live in the heart of Tornado Alley and have dealt with them my whole life.

Watches are issues when conditions are right for a tornado to form, but currently none have. There doesn't even have to be an active storm for a Tornado Watch, and they do NOT blow sirens for a Watch, which can last for hours. I've been under a Tornados Watch all evening and we haven't gotten a drop of rain, and certainly no storms. But the weather patterns, temperature, humidity and so forth are such that a tornado- producing storm could come any time.

A Tornado Warning, on the other hand, is what they just had on the show. A Warning means a tornado has been spotted on the ground, and people need to take shelter IMMEDIATELY. This is when the sirens are sounded to make sure everyone knows what's going on. Theoretically, a warning is supposed to give you a 15 minute window to get to safety, but that tends to depend on how close you are to where the tornado touched down.

For CBS to screw them up like they did is bad, because it can confuse people who maybe aren't familiar with how the system works, which is never anything but harmful.

For anyone interested, here's the page where the National Weather Service explains the difference: https://www.weather.gov/sjt/WatchWarningAdvisoryExplained

Already videos from tonight on YouTube

I'm already finding videos from tonight's show on YouTube and by the gods, THEY'RE BACK!!! Anika is amazing - she doesn't try to replace Neil, but still fits in like that's just where she's supposed to be. And Geddy and Alex are great. Geddy's voice gets a bit rough when he gets into the really high notes, but in the meat of his range (where most of what I've heard so far has been), he's sounding good. And what can you say about Alex, except, well, he's Alex - as good as ever.

The first video I saw from the concert was >!Xanadu!<, and I was just sobbing at hearing them again and know that was NOW - not 11 years ago, not 20 years ago, but TONIGHT.

Five years ago we lost something precious -not just in terms of losing Neil himself - but we lost Rush. And now\, somehow, Rush has returned and at least for a few fleeting moments, all feels right in the world.

I so wish I could see them, but since I can't, thank you to those of you who can and share your experience with the rest of us poor sods.
