Hey everyone, im new to these cars and cars in General so i could really use ur help with buying this car together with my dad

I’m considering buying a Nissan Silvia S14 Kouki and wanted some honest opinions before I commit.

Seller has owned it for about 4 years and asking Price: Equivalent to about $28,000 USD (taxes and registration in Denmark are insane, so this is actually a very low price for a registered Kouki here) they usually cost around $34,000

- I’m looking for a fun car, but reliability matters

- I don’t want to spend a ton of time or money fixing things

The car I’m looking at:

- ~200,000 km (approx. 124k miles).

- Mostly stock engine (from what seller says)

- ECU Master + tuned by a shop (original ECU included)

- Nismo suspension (original parts included)

- Front mount intercooler, exhaust, etc.

Launch control added but can be disabled

Safety: Overboost protection set in the ECU.

Boost Control: GReddy Profec Spec 2.

Intercooler: GReddy Aluminum turbo intercooler.

Exhaust: GReddy 3" stainless steel exhaust.

Nismo S-Tune shock absorbers/springs.

Handling: Uniball tie rods.

Cooling: Extra 12-row oil cooler with braided steel lines.

Oil System: Oil filter relocation kit; the filter is now easily accessible in the old battery tray.

Brakes: Brake lines upgraded to braided steel.

The Stage 3 kit currently in the car from Japtuning should provide an average of 320hp & 420Nm. I would guess with original injectors it results in about 260hp at the rear wheels.

- Wastegate: Currently stuck, but owner is fixing/replacing it before the sale.

100 cell catalytic converter will be fixed before sale

The owner is getting the car through inspection (MOT) before the sale so he will likely fix rust also

(Everything on it rn has been thru inspection about a year ago)

- Small rust spot in one strut tower

- Hasn’t been driven super hard (according to seller) but has been a few times

My concerns:

- Is a stock SR20DET reliable at this mileage with mild/moderate tuning?

- How big of a red flag is rust in the strut tower?

- Should I be worried about the OEM turbo at ~200k km?

- Are these cars realistically able to be weekend driven in the summer without worrying about too many issues

I’ve seen mixed opinions — some say these are great if maintained, others say they’re money pits.

Any advice or things I should check before buying would be appreciated 🙏

Thinking of pulling the trigger on a 1991 Z32 Twin Turbo (Auto) together with my dad– How "scary" is the maintenance for a summer cruiser?

Im new to this car and i think its one of the best looking cars made, especially for the price (its priced at $23k ) - here in Denmark they usually go for 30k er more (remember im in Europe and they are NOT as cheap here as in America)

The Car:

Model: 1991 Nissan 300ZX Twin Turbo (Targa)

Transmission: Automatic

Mileage: 145,000 km (approx. 90k miles)

Condition: Looks very clean, original yellow paint

The Plan:

I live in Denmark, so this will strictly be a summer car (6 months a year). It’s now 35 years old here, which means it hits "vintage" status (cheap insurance/tax), but the maintenance is what worries me. I’m looking for something I can enjoy on weekends without it living at the mechanic 24/7.

The "Engine Out" Reputation, Is it really as bad as they say? For a car with 145k km? can I expect a relatively "trouble-free" summer, or do these cars always find a way to leak something?

Idk if all these are silly questions im just really worried that we wont enjoy the car as much if we're gonna end up spending too much money in order to keep it running. Especially my dad is a bit hesitant 😬
